These books are for children working at upper Level 3 of the National Curriculum. Children at this level will be reading a range of appropriate texts fl uently and accurately. They will be able to respond to tension in a story, justify prediction by referring back to the story, begin to fi nd meanings beyond literal and read ahead to determine direction in meaning. Children will also be able to pause appropriately in response to punctuation and/or meaning.
