Focus on Screen Printing VASTEX International
Reaching incredible numbers This three-chamber, 46.8kW ERVP-VI-24 conveyor dryer from Vastex International cures up to 900 DTF-printed images/hr, up to 900 images/hr screen printed with water-based ink or discharge, and up to 2,700 images/hr screen-printed with plastisol ink, while exhausting off-gases from the shop environment.
Filtered make-up air is drawn through the top-centre of each heating chamber, and through its double-wall top and sides, serving to cool the outer skin and chamber edges for operator safety.
ERVP-VI-24 conveyor dryer
Pre-heated make-up air fl ows into the heat chamber, replacing the exhausted air being drawn out along each side of the belt, while preventing an inrush of air from the infeed and exit of the dryer that would otherwise disturb lighter materials such as DTF-printed fi lms. Unlike other multi-purpose dryers, the unit satisfi es the unique requirements of DTF shops by condensing glycol off-gases as liquid condensate in a removable vessel, and exhausting any remaining vapour from the shop environment. Operator controls allow fi ne-tuning of air volume entering the chamber to accommodate the weight of materials being cured.
The modular dryer is a three-chamber expansion of the company’s single-chamber ERVP-VI-24 model, demonstrating how Vastex dryers can meet the needs of increased production without investing in new equipment.

Colormaker
Bringing a taste of the outback Based on iron oxide pigments, the Earth Series takes its cue from the Australian outback, with fashion-led earth tones and excellent lightfastness. The pigments are low in toxicity and made using benign processes, in keeping with the other eco-friendly Permaset textile printing ink ranges. All Permaset inks are made using 100% renewable energy and contain no PVC, no phthalates or other plasticisers and no solvents, making for a cleaner, safer print room. Screens, squeegees and tools clean up with water, so shops use fewer chemical cleaners and produce no solvent waste. Permaset Supercover inks allow opaque prints with a nice handle on black or other dark fabrics with no need for an underbase. Garments stay breathable, and prints hold up wash after wash. Lightfastness of the new colours will rate a full 8/8 on the blue wool scale.
As well as the Supercover range, the Permaset brand also includes Standard (Permaset Aqua) colours for light coloured fabrics and the Permatone colour-matching system. This offers 12 base inks that can be mixed to 1,869 Pantone shades. Permaset textile inks can be run on standard manual and automatic equipment, with fl exible curing to suit small studios and high-volume production fl oors alike. With Permaset premium water-based textile inks, you can print responsibly and print beautifully.
