Fruit of the Loom brings back 90s with Zara
F
ruit of the Loom has collaborated with retail tycoon Zara as it launches a new casualwear line reminiscent of the 1990s.
As part of the garment manufacturer’s 175th anniversary, it is working with the high-street brand to distribute its latest collection to around 1,000 stores in more than 70 countries.
The one-off drop comprises around 200 styles for babies, kids, teens, women and men, as well as a wide range of accessories, all taking inspiration from the last decade of the last millennium. It launched simultaneously worldwide on September 10 and is expected to be available until the end of November. Matthias Fuchs, senior director marketing, Fruit of the Loom Europe, said: “For me, this collection is a true masterpiece.
“Our core business remains the blank apparel segment and therefore the foundation of our strategic activities. “At the same time, after several years of limited presence in European retail, we want to bring Fruit of the Loom closer to people again. The brand is 175 years old and evokes positive memories for many generations – including me. “That makes it all the more special to now see it together with Zara on a global fashion stage.

P
rint and embroidery specialist Involution has welcomed Leeds Arts University graduate Daniel Jefferies as a pre-press apprentice, marking the company’s 60th hire. After struggling to secure industry opportunities due to a lack of experience, he decided to pursue an apprenticeship to gain practical skills. The appointment comes as Involution continues to grow, following its acquisition of the
Print.Inc. brand in September 2025. The company is also supporting local manufacturing careers through its sponsorship of the Leeds Manufacturing Festival. Alex Gale, senior designer at Involution, said: “The value of apprenticeships is underrated, and good working people might slip through the cracks.”
Matt Child of the BPIF highlighted the importance of apprenticeships in developing the industry’s future workforce, particularly as print becomes increasingly technical and diverse.
Involution said the appointment supports its commitment to developing local talent and passing specialist skills on to the next generation, as it targets further growth in 2027.

Worldwide, the collection is also available in countries including the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, India and the United Arab Emirates.
