yocell is well known for being among the most sustainable textile fi bres on the market, and many eco-conscious manufacturers are already using it to produce soft yet durable fabrics. Together with our European partners, Madeira has developed Sensa Green, the fi rst coloured machine embroidery thread made from this renewable raw material. Lyocell fi bres are derived from trees and harvested from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) controlled forests. The trees are grown on non-agricultural land and require a much lower water consumption than cotton whilst benefi tting from a closed-loop production process, awarded with the EU Ecolabel. This process uses only organic solvents, which are recovered and reused to more than 99 %. Spun and dyed exclusively in Germany, shorter transportation cycles result in a lower carbon footprint. Free from harmful substances and certifi ed STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX, product class I, guaranteeing their safety for humans and Annex 6

for the earth. This optional extra was mainly developed for companies focused on the Detox Campaign which aims to improve environmental performance during production across the textile industry.
Designers and eco-conscious embroiderers now have an entirely new thread option to experiment with. This super soft thread offers a distinctive fi nish, not too shiny, not too dull, bringing a new look to embroideries for luxury brands and corporate fashion as well as kids’ wear, underwear and the home textiles market.
Sensa Green also received the Royal seal of approval when it was specially selected to produce the machine-embroidered sections on the anointing screen for the King’s Coronation, a

Available on 5000m cones in 144 carefully selected shades, including an undyed version. Dye-free colour no. 71 can be used in its natural state or on textiles that will be overdyed later.
