Banner Group acquires William Turner & Son O

n June 30, William Turner & Son became part of the Banner

Group. Although formally an acquisition, both parties see this move as the coming together of two great schoolwear businesses to create a stronger and more sustainable whole. In a statement on LinkedIn, Daniel Turner, managing director, said: “By joining forces, we at William Turner will access the commercial strength and expertise of Banner, helping us to continue growing in partnership with customers. In practical terms we will operate as a distinct trading division of Banner, retaining our autonomy, brand identity and great people.”

Mr Turner will remain in his role as managing director, John Turner as operations and production director and Andy Smith as sales director. There will be no change to William Turner’s trading arrangements and all usual contacts and processes will stay the same. Mr Turner continued: “Banner are supportive of our UK manufacturing capability and it is very much business as usual as we continue to focus on delivering great service in the critical summer months ahead. Longer term we hope to tap into the resources of Banner to further improve the customer offer and service that is the signature of William Turner.

“This is clearly a significant milestone in the William Turner journey. For over 50

GoCustom Clothing releases enhanced print on-demand service, including a TikTok Shop integration

consumers look more and more for sustainable ways to purchase their clothing, print on-demand offers retailers a cost-effective solution to produce eco-friendly products at the point of order rather than holding expensive and often discarded stock.

“e-commerce has seen massive growth over the last two years and it’s important for us that we keep ahead of the trends, hence our investment in this enhanced platform and the exciting new dropship integration for the TikTok generation.”

In 2021, products on TikTok were viewed 4.6 billion times with that number expected to be more than double in 2022. The GoCustom app connects with the retailer’s TikTok Shop account, enabling the retailer to sell products directly to consumers without them ever leaving the popular video app.
