Holovis announces new exclusive partnership with Luoman Lighting in China

olovis has announced the signing of a new joint venture covering China with Shanghai Luoman Lighting Technologies. Holovis will place all its future Chinese business through the joint venture and will work closely with Luoman on supporting its fast-growing outdoor experiential projects. The two companies intend to use their complementary expertise to offer completely turn-key design, complex AV/lighting, show control, projection mapping, real- time media and systems integration solutions, that delivers the most memorable large scale public experiences in China. Both companies also intend to combine their innovation pipelines to accelerate the development of next generation experiences to bring to this fast-growing market.


Founded in 1999, Luoman is a high-tech enterprise based in Shanghai and a leading urban lighting integrator in China. The company has several invention patented technologies which gives them first mover advantages in the


urban night planning industry. Their specialisms include professional lighting design and construction, intelligent street lamps and intelligent management information services, all designed to create a pleasant night light environment and improve the quality of urban life and urban economic development. The projects undertaken by the team have won many awards, such as the China Construction Engineering Luban Award, Shanghai Magnolia Award and the first prize Zhongzhao Lighting Engineering Design Award. The chairman of Luoman, Kaijun Sun, has been with the company since July 2009, where she has served as an executive director, director and currently as chairman and general manager of the company.


Kaijun commented: “The Shanghai listing marks a new milestone for Luoman that can experiment with new technologies and pioneer new applications of 5G technologies. Luoman aims to deliver an immersive social experience for users. We are looking forward to strengthening our efforts with Holovis in virtual and artificial reality.”


Holovis is a UK based experiential design company that specialises in the creation of immersive attractions using next-generation technology. Its in-house art, software development and engineering teams are able to take a project from concept to completion. With offices in the UK, Orlando, Shanghai and Abu Dhabi, Holovis’ work can be found in top-tier theme parks and visitor attractions throughout the world.


Commenting on the partnership, Holovis CEO Stuart Hetherington said: “We are really excited to combine our specialist knowledge in designing themed entertainment and emerging technologies with Luoman’s knowledge of the local market and technical engineering. The two companies compliment each other perfectly and we think the partnership will lead to great opportunities for all involved!”.

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) International Board recently welcomed its new Executive Committee.


The new Executive Committee’s appointment for the 2021-2022 year was approved at the TEA International Board’s December 2021 meeting. Each individual will serve a one-year term. Two new leaders were added to the Executive

Committee: • Anthony Pruett, senior vice president, The Hettema Group will assume the position of Treasurer


• Evi Sari, vice president, Location Based Experiences Asia, ViacomCBS, will assume the position of Secretary.


Other Committee leaders include: Matt Barton, CEO, 7thSense, Shannon Martin director of business

The Executive Committee oversees TEA’s affairs between regular meetings of the International Board and has the full authority of the International Board in any actions it takes between board meetings.
