Interactivity in action: Centara Mirage Beach The new Centara Mirage Beach resort is one of the first resorts to be constructed on the newly made Deira Islands in Dubai. A spectacular mixed-use, waterfront development, Deira Islands comprises four man-made islands situated adjacent to Dubai's Deira district. The remarkable project covers a total area
of 15.3 sq km and adds an additional 40 km, including 21 km of beachfront, to Dubai's coastline. The Centara resort is focused on the young
family demographic and has added amenities that cater to young children. The hotel is whimsical in design and colour. Empex designed a new splash park specifically
for the hotel, featuring colourful interactive water features and attractions. The area contains water toys for toddlers as well as preschoolers and children up to age 12. Big, bold, and bright, the water features add a
unique new water play area where the families can spend quality time together. Parents feel relaxed knowing the young ones are not in deep water. The water features are unique and different
from all others, the Aquadunker being the central feature with its big bucket that fills with water and dumps with a big splash on the crowd below. A toddler slide has been included too, while the
interactive spiral spray on the Aquabloom invites children to merry-go-round the base, and players can turn a handwheel on the Aquadoodle to change the spray pattern and create a spinning wheel. The Aqualeaf and Aquaflo present two
different tropical-themed water features, each with a different sensation as you pass through. Meanwhile, soft cone sprays emit from the Aquabow, a hoop that calls the children to play, while an Aquabrello presents a circular water curtain, and the Aquaflo’s vertical jets let children play with the nozzles while learning about the physics of water. Finally, the area wouldn’t be complete without
the Watershooter, a classic water cannon that can shoot a friendly stream of water in all directions. The water toys are designed using simple
geometry for a contemporary result that is tactile, with rounded surfaces for safe play. In addition, a colourful soft foam on the ground guarantees a safe play surface for active children. The secret of the spray park is that it is as much
for parents as it is for the children, allowing them a choice to participate or relax on the sidelines while the kids burn off endless energy, resulting in a fun- filled day for all.
