t’s finally here! The world’s very first SpongeBob dark ride, SpongeBob’s Crazy Carnival Ride, opened on 1 March at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino on the infamous Las Vegas strip.
It goes without saying that this exciting new dark ride is based on Nickelodeon’s
beloved kids’ cartoon series, SpongeBob SquarePants. The show really needs no introduction. It has been running since 1999 and remains as popular as ever (in fact, it is the most-watched animated series, and has been for 22 years), delighting viewers as it chronicles the crazy antics of SpongeBob and his friends. SpongeBob’s Crazy Carnival Ride is the long-awaited result of a creative
collaboration between Sally Dark Rides, Paramount and Nickelodeon, and it takes its riders down to the underwater world of Bikini Bottom for an interactive adventure like no other. Back on land, meanwhile, it’s worth noting that Circus Circus is the only
resort in Las Vegas with a true family focus, featuring a circus theme, a family-centric philosophy, and an established indoor theme park too. The first iteration of SpongeBob’s Crazy Carnival Ride is undoubtedly right at home here - and this dark ride will make the perfect fit for any operator seeking to deliver fun for the whole family. Shana Gerety, general manager at Circus Circus, explains: “For more than 55 years, Circus Circus has been Las Vegas’ favourite family resort. Now as

The high energy attraction will bring a new level of family- friendly competitive gameplay and theme park ride experiences to all our guests!”
Wonderfully immersive Those in search of an undersea adventure will find SpongeBob’s Crazy Carnival Ride at the far end of the hotel, near the Adventure Dome. A one-of- a-kind, fully interactive ride awaits, filled with competitive gameplay and plenty of hijinks from SpongeBob and his fellow Bikini Bottom-ers. So, what exactly can visitors expect? Vibrant sets, spectacular special effects
and vivid integrated projections all come together to bring Bikini Bottom to life - delivering a wonderfully immersive experience that will delight kids and adults alike. Among the most crucial elements are the beloved characters of the franchise, and the new dark ride sees six of them brought to life through Sally Dark Rides’ amazing animatronics, including SpongeBob’s greedy boss, Mr. Krabs. Indeed, it is Mr. Krabs who is behind this mad-cap money-making carnival
under the sea, and guests are invited by Mr. Krabs to try their luck in an array of ride-through-style midway games - while SpongeBob and Patrick do their
