Expedition Odyssey Fire & Ice Soars at SeaWorld
Just one year after its opening, SeaWorld Orlando has debuted a new era for its Expedition Odyssey attraction. Susan Storey reports…
T
he Mack Rides Flying Theatre has debuted an amazing new film. “Expedition Odyssey Fire & Ice” features incredible views and
vistas of flowing lava, massive icebergs and glowing views of the Northern Lights. The result is more than an upgrade. It is a journey to areas of the globe few people ever experience. “I saw a film in Las Vegas that was produced by
FlyOver and was amazed by the footage they had captured and how it was presented,” shared Justin Newton, senior vice president of project delivery, United Parks & Resorts during the attraction’s grand opening. “It inspired us to relook at Expedition Odyssey and wonder what we could do. developed in collaboration with them for this attraction. We worked closely with the team to curate the experience, selecting breathtaking wildlife encounters and dramatic Arctic landscapes that support the attraction's Fire & Ice storyline.” Flyover produced the new film, music, and
media elements at the heart of the experience, including content shown in the queue and pre- show areas. "Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice represents
everything Flyover was built to do, take people somewhere they've never been and make them feel a genuine connection to it. The Arctic is one of the planet's most extraordinary and least-seen environments,” said Lisa Adams, chief operating officer and executive producer, Flyover.
