As the leisure and attractions industry continues to recover and look to the future, IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, is looking forward to hosting IAAPA Expo Europe in Barcelona from 28-30 September (p23). I for one can’t wait to hit the show floor and catch up with members of the industry to find out what new innovations lay in store for operators. I will be joined at the show by Park World media director, Paul Ryder. We look forrward to seeing you there! The Park World Excellence Awards 2021 will close for entries and nominations on Thursday 30 September. In a celebration of all that is great about the industry, the winners will be crowned at a live streamed event in December. If you have yet to submit anything, please make sure you do so before this date as we are unable to grant extensions. After years of development, Lagotronics Projects has introduced its latest innovation in the field of interactive systems for theme parks, FECs, museums and other LBE venues. I caught up with chief executive officer, Mark Beumers and chief technology officer Jacco Groen in ‘t Wout, to find out more about its new, 4th generation technology and how the company has handled the Covid pandemic. Read the story in full on pages 26-28. This month’s Attraction Profile is brought to you by Marcus Gaines, owner of Ride and Park Media. In it, he reviews ‘The World of David Walliams’ at Alton Towers (p38-39). Resorts World Genting has revealed further details of the adventures that await visitors at Southeast Asia’s highly anticipated theme park, featuring nine movie and adventure- inspired ‘worlds’, 6,000 feet above sea level. Find out what it has planned on pages 40-41.
