More dynamic, interactive and personal than ever before
After years of development, Lagotronics Projects has introduced its latest innovation in the field of interactive systems for theme parks, FECs, museums and other LBE venues. Park World editor, Becci Knowles, caught up with chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Beumers and chief technology officer (CTO) Jacco Groen in ‘t Wout, to find out more about its new, 4th generation technology and how the company has handled the Covid pandemic.

uring the COVID-19 pandemic Lagotronics Projects, like many other suppliers in the industry, saw multiple projects being cancelled or put on hold. CEO Mark Beumers explains: “With all the exciting projects that we had in our forecast and the ones we were already working on, 2020 was supposed to be a fantastic year for us. The impact on our business was significant, but we are very happy that we kept the entire Lagotronics Projects team together and were even able to hire people and expand the team.”
During the last year and a half, despite the crisis, the company worked on several large projects like an entire new theme park in Asia for which it will supply multiple attractions such as a media dark ride, VR attraction, interactive towers and an interactive kiddy ride. It also completed a unique interactive walkthrough attraction in Germany for Movie Park with wireless, battery powered

interactive devices and upgraded a dark ride for the Railway Museum in the Netherlands.
However, the largest project on which the company is still working today involves the development of an interactive attraction for Kaisa Group in China. This includes the development and production of a highly customised high- quality game. As the main contractor Lagotronics Projects has been commissioned to create a truly unique interactive experience on three levels.
The story is about an important mission to Mars that needs to be executed in three phases, and all phases are connected in one game environment. When guests enter the final part of the attraction they will be surprised by several futuristic themed VR “Speeders” on motion base platforms. “Everyone should play a different part in the game to cooperate and complete the mission,” says Mark.
