TEA appoints new Executive Director
The International Board of Directors for the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has selected Lindsey Nelson, CAE to serve as the next Executive Director. The Board of Directors selected Nelson following a six -month comprehensive global search, led by a team of current and former Board leaders focused on bringing a global perspective to the search process.
Lindsey brings to the TEA a depth of knowledge and experience of association management and demonstrated results of transforming organisations and growing revenues, most recently as vice president of operations with United Benefit Advisors (UBA). Lindsey has extensive experience leading
strategic and operational initiatives and planning, and a history of growth through strategic industry partnerships.
“Lindsey is a positive and transparent leader, with a strong strategic focus that will help the TEA continue to transform and expand globally. Lindsey’s authentic approach to leadership and service to members was immediately apparent,” said the TEA’s International Board president, Chuck Fawcett. “This is an exciting time for the TEA as we are well-positioned to grow and expand our global outreach to better serve our diverse membership. Lindsey is the right leader, at the right time to get the job done!”

day-to-day operations for the TEA staff. Lindsey will collaborate with the International Board to develop and implement a strategic framework that will allow the TEA to continue to connect members in meaningful ways. Lindsey will build relationships with members, sponsors, Divisional Boards, committees and taskforces, staff, and key affiliate partners as well as streamline operational processes, and bring new and innovative ideas to build a stronger TEA for the future. “I am honoured to be selected as TEA’s executive director and engage with an industry so full of creativity, innovation, and imagination,” said Lindsey. “I have a passion for fostering a positive, collaborative and inclusive organisational culture, and
I am looking forward to meeting the members at our upcoming global and digital events.”
Lindsey assumed the role on 7 June.
Six Flags Great Adventure & Safari doubles down on Dinosaurs
Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, New Jersey, launched Six Flags Xpedition Dinodaily May 28 through to 7 September. Guests will have the option to drive their own vehicles or walk through this Jurassic adventure, which will feature 30 life-size dinosaurs with realistic movement and sound. During the day, guests will experience Xpedition Dino as an add-on experience to the Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure. Guests can drive past life- size, roaring, moving dinosaurs or walk along a private, wooded path. From a custom soundtrack, guests can stream from any mobile device that marries this prehistoric adventure with the 21st century.
After the safari closes each day, Xpedition Dino will become a thrilling and educational add-on to the theme park and includes a wooded, walk-through adventure amongst the life-like dinosaurs, find detailed information at each dinosaur, and discover unique and memorable photo experiences. Visitors will see 30 different types of dinosaurs including Tyrannosaurus (T. Rex), Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, Megalosauru, Utahraptor, and Iguanodon.
