First held in 1823, The Show is “a celebration of Australian culture, from our rural traditions to our modern- day lifestyles, providing unique experiences for everyone.” “We are so pleased to be able to offer Learning the ROPES training as an on-demand training option for our mobile ride licensees working this year’s show,” said Shane McGrath, senior manager of operations product and development for the Sydney Royal Easter Show. “The training has been very well received and with the great rollout we have had this year, we look forward to expanding its use to more ride operators next year.”

Austria-based manufacturer Sunkid releases latest family play product

Physical activity is key to Sunkids latest family play product, the Sunrider, which could take the form of a galloping wild mustang, a hopping rabbit or even a caterpillar – there are practically no limits to the individual theming of this attraction, Sunkid maintains. Operation is intuitive and entertaining for the rider, who pulls and pushes the hand levers to make the vehicle move forwards or backwards on the rails. The principle of the Sunrider is derived from a rail cart, and therefore

requires physical activity and some coordination. Guests can enjoy the ride on their own or compete against friends on the parallel tracks. The Sunrider is also flexible and easily installed. The approximately

20m long and straight tracks are set up parallel – i.e. at least two, but of course more are also possible – on an even terrain. Since no power connection is required and the attraction is designed according to the EN 1176 standard for public playgrounds, it can be operated inexpensively and without supervision by the park operator. Battery- powered coin operation is optionally available, as are customer-specific themes and individual rail lengths. Its hourly capacity is 36 people per hour on a double installation, with a ride duration of approximately three minutes. The Sunrider is already in operation with a caterpillar theme at Erlebnispark Steinau (DE), with two more projects planned for summer 2021 in Germany and Denmark.
