Looking ahead to Lionsgate In partnership with Lionsgate, Landing has announced plans for a branded outdoor movie-themed park set to open in Jeju Shinhwa World in 2019. Lionsgate Movie World will feature seven movie zones themed after The Hunger Games, The Twilight Saga, Now You See Me and other Lionsgate hits. Spanning approximately 120,000 square mentres, the new park will be Korea’s first international theme park and the first built exclusively around world famous movies.


According to designer Jack Rouse Associates, guests will be able to experience actual movie scenes through “state-of- the-art rides, attractions and 4D Intellectual Property (IP) reproduced streets and towns.” Each zone will also feature themed restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and entertainment performances. Lionsgate Movie World at Jeju Shinhwa World is expected to commence construction in 2018 and is scheduled to open in 2019. Meanwhile, Shinhwa Water Park is set to open its gates


later this summer. A 13,000 square metre water park with a number of slides and attractions by ProSlide, it will be largest water park in Jeju, equipped with an infinity pool, a wave pool, water slides and kids pool. US firm Dream Park International (DPI) designed the water park with Korean architectural design firm SAMOO as a master planner and registered architect. Phase 2 of Jeju Shinhwa World will commence operation in 2020 the latest, so watcht this space!
