What steps are you taking to ensure your park is as secure as possible?
Mike Brown, Blackpool Pleasure Beach: Blackpool Pleasure Beach has operated airport style security scanners and bag checks at our main entrance for over 10 years. We also operate a highly visible security team across the 42-acre site.
David Nouaille, Puy du Fou: Given the ever-present security issues across Europe at the moment, all our teams are very conscious of the need to ensure the security of our park and in particular our guests. As such we conduct stringent security checks when guests arrive at the park, and we co- operate fully with the local and national authorities, among other things.
Charles Coyle, Tayto Park: We here in Tayto Park run regular drills with our security team taking into account all possible risks to our guests. In addition, we hold regular meetings with the local police reviewing our security processes and procedures analysing all possible risks. We are very fortunate as well that the local police regularly walk through the park, which in itself is a very valuable deterrent.
Denis Densmore, Blue Bayou/Dixie Landin’: We have had metal detectors here since 1998 at all of our entry points as well as Louisiana State Troopers, off duty sheriff’s officers, and private security. The park also has night security to help protect us when we are away.
