Yulia Aliakseyeva, co-chief product offi cer at BGaming, talks to GIO about the studio’s signifi cant growth, commitment to innovation and plans for the rest of the year.
Please introduce yourself. Yulia Aliakseyeva: I am the co-chief product offi cer at BGaming and one of the studio’s fi rst employees, joining the company back in 2018. I started as a project manager then took on the role of product game producer. Nowadays, I work with our Yulia Aliakseyeva team to develop creative games that entertain players and offer them the chance to win big.
Tell us about BGaming’s background. YA: BGaming was initially a games development department within SOFTSWISS, but after discovering the huge potential of the iGaming industry, it launched in 2018 as a separate company. Our team has more than 20 years’ experience in the iGaming sector and uses this to develop games that are attractive to a wide range of players. Over the last fi ve years, we’ve built an experienced team and are now proud to be live in more than 900 casinos around the world.
Tell us about your portfolio. YA: Our goal is to be the most social and player-driven provider in the industry and as such, we have a creative portfolio of more than 100 diverse games, including online slots, casual games, crash games and card and table games, suitable for a range of preferences. Our offering also includes more than 120 exclusive titles developed in collaboration with partners such as Stake. com, Blaze, Roobet and PlayAmo.
We are committed to gathering feedback from real players when developing our games and offer a variety of themes and mechanics to suit the taste of players from the many markets in which we are live. We also currently support more than 90 currencies, including cryptocurrencies, to ensure our games are accessible to a wide audience.
What differentiates BGaming from other slot game providers? YA: As previously noted, our commitment to becoming the most social and player-focused studio is what sets us apart from our competitors. We know our players love to feel part of a community and as such, we have
collaborated with Scatters Club, a collective of casino games players and streamers, to sponsor online streaming tournaments. Furthermore, BGaming was also the fi rst to introduce provably fair technology and today, more than 35 of our games utilise this feature. The provably fair games maintain leading positions in online casinos and operators are particularly interested in this as it helps strengthen player trust. We also pioneered the use of cryptocurrencies and have seen their use continue to grow. In the past year alone, we have seen a 19% growth in the number of digital coins used in wagers and expect this to increase.
How will you evolve your portfolio going forward? YA: Our portfolio is always evolving, and we use analytics to stay ahead of the curve, learning what our players want and implementing it in our game development. The majority of our portfolio is translated into 15 languages which we consider important when appealing to a diverse audience. We will continue this
development as we expand into new markets.
Tell us about your plans for the rest of the year. Any partnerships or releases you can tell us about? YA: We’re going live with Casimba Gaming, which will undoubtedly give us a great boost in development in regulated markets.
Additionally, we will continue expanding into the Latin American market. As part of our aspiration to become the most social, collaborative, and player-oriented provider, we are developing a unique streamer-friendly game and will host three more streamer contests by the end of 2023. Moreover, we will release several games with megaways mechanics, including the unpredictable Dice Bonanza featuring refi lling reels and an outstanding visual concept with impressive 3D effects.
Will you be attending any industry events this year? If so, what can visitors expect? YA: Later this year, we will be attending SBC Barcelona in September and SiGMA Malta in November. We will also be attending CGS Brazil in September as we listed LatAm as a top priority for the studio in 2023 and aim to raise brand awareness and meet current and new partners as delegates at the event. We have a lot to showcase including our top-quality slots, table games, crash games and casual games. With over 20 years’ expertise, we’ve already proven ourselves in Europe, Asia and North America – now we want to prove what we can offer to our partners in LatAm.
