FUJITSU Fujitsu Nick McDonald, account director at Fujitsu, highlights the business’ role in the iGaming space.

GIO: Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your role at Fujitsu? Nick McDonald: My name is Nick McDonald, and I am an account director at Fujitsu. My focus is on the iGaming space and the services we provide there.

GIO: Fujitsu has been working in the iGaming space for a while now, can you tell us about the company’s journey so far? NM: Fujitsu has been involved in the iGaming industry for around seven years. We have worked closely with major iGaming companies from around the world, helping them to evolve their services while continuing to grow and develop our own products. We collaborate with an ecosystem of partners, including Intel, to provide advanced iGaming technology solutions to our customers worldwide. Our aim is to ‘change the game’ and help iGaming companies consider new ways to approach their IT and cloud infrastructure with our products. We want to put a focus on sustainability, fl exibility, and resilience, and we believe all of our products provide this.

GIO: PRIMEFLEX is one of your company’s primary offerings, can you tell us a little bit more about this? NM: PRIMEFLEX is Fujitsu’s leading Hybrid Cloud solution. Many companies fi nd themselves in an area of cloud chaos right now, and they are unsure of which cloud setup works best for them. PRIMEFLEX provides the best of both worlds. It allows customers to use public cloud services but also to have their own IT infrastructure and centres on-site.

This is complemented by our Uscale service. This is a scalable, consumption-based model that ensures customers are only paying for the IT services that they are using. This as-a-service model is extremely cost-effective, preventing customers from spending money they do not need to on IT infrastructure.

GIO: Data resilience is a focus for Fujitsu, can you tell us a little bit more about that? NM: Data is central to everything right now, and our services help customers keep their data secure. The idea of a service going down in the middle of a big game is every

operator’s worst nightmare, and we enable our clients to be sure that this won’t happen. We put a big emphasis on data resilience, ensuring that our customers know they are in safe hands when they work with us. We work closely with other major companies, such as Intel and are on hand to help our clients with all of their data protection needs.

GIO: Sustainability is a big part of Fujitsu’s mission statement; can you tell me a little bit more about that? NM: Fujitsu has made a company-wide commitment to sustainability, and we work closely with our partners to ensure they share this vision. We are focused on ‘human-centric innovation’, and we want to use technology to create a more sustainable society. Our hybrid-cloud products allow our customers to put sustainability and ESG initiatives at the forefront of their business plans.

GIO: What makes Fujitsu stand out from other technology companies in the iGaming space? NM: One of our biggest selling points is our fl exibility. Our Uscale product allows customers to create a plan that works for them, giving them control over their own cloud infrastructure. We do not believe in a one-size-fi ts-all approach, which means we can work closely with our clients on their cloud and technology journeys.

We also like to have a very people-centric approach to the way we do business. We don’t want just to sell you a product and leave you to work it out. We understand the need for our clients to be able to pick up the phone and tell us what they want.

We also have the support of Intel, which is one of the biggest IT solution providers in the world, ensuring that our products deliver only the best quality service.

GIO: What does the future look like for Fujitsu in iGaming? NM: Our hybrid-cloud offerings will still remain a priority, and we will continue to work with new and exciting clients in the iGaming space. Another area of interest for us is AI. We want to show customers how AI can be effective and help to deliver effective AI solutions that will help the industry continue to grow. We are open to working with new iGaming companies and are continuing, alongside Intel, to evolve our own products in this space.
