Hit Group to host 2027 European Dealer Championship


Hit Group will host the European Dealer Championship 2027 in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, following the conclusion of this year’s event at Casino Baden-Baden in Germany.


Organised by the European Casino Association (ECA), the annual competition brings together


leading casino dealers from across Europe to compete in American


roulette and blackjack, with judging based on technical skills, game control and customer service. Side competitions include chip handling, card


handling and mathematical accuracy. Hit Group was represented in the 2026 competition by Nina Rijavec from Park, Hotel & Entertainment and Martin Drašček from Perla, Resort & Entertainment.


At the closing ceremony, Hit Group President Sandi Brataševec formally accepted responsibility for hosting the 2027 event.


Brataševec said the company was looking forward to welcoming Europe’s leading dealers to Nova Gorica and showcasing Slovenia’s hospitality and gaming expertise. Hosting the championship refl ects Hit Group’s continued role within the European land-based casino sector and supports its international development strategy.


Nordic gaming launch event focuses on region’s regulation


The recent Gaming in the Nordics launch event has highlighted the region’s role in shaping regulation and compliance across Europe’s regulated iGaming markets.


Held at Better Collective’s headquarters in Copenhagen, the invitation-only event brought together regulators, operators and industry stakeholders to discuss market development, compliance and player protection.


Danish Online Gambling Association CEO Morten Ronde said Nordic markets were well placed to pioneer future regulatory developments, while Danish Gambling Authority Director Anders Dorph highlighted the importance of operator compliance within regulated markets.


A panel featuring Betsson CEO Pontus Lindwall and Immense Group CEO Jesper Kärrbrink examined the factors underpinning sustainable regulated markets, including competitive products, effective player protection and regulatory enforcement. Gaming in Europe founder Willem van Oort said the event had brought together key decision-makers from across the region and confi rmed that a full Gaming in the Nordics conference will be launched in Copenhagen from 2027.


Genting adds exclusive IGT slot


Genting Casino Online has expanded its exclusive games portfolio with the launch of Money Gong Empress, developed by IGT. Konami Gaming has completed the deployment of its SYNKROS casino management system across all 29 Carnival Cruise Line vessels, extending its relationship with Carnival Corporation following an earlier rollout with Holland America Line.


The system, branded internally as SURF (Serving Up Rewards and Fun), enables personalised player rewards, promotional offers and cashless wagering across the cruise line’s onboard casinos. The technology also integrates with guests’ onboard folio accounts and supports tailored bonuses and prize draws. Carnival Corporation currently operates 40 casinos across its Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America Line fl eets using the SYNKROS platform.


NOVOMATIC achieves ISO brand certifi cation


NOVOMATIC has become the fi rst gaming technology company to achieve certifi cation under the ISO 20671 international standard for brand evaluation. The ISO 20671 framework assesses brand management across areas including innovation, quality, governance, market performance, stakeholder engagement and long-term brand development. The certifi cation followed an assessment of NOVOMATIC’s corporate and brand management activities in Austria, including brand protection, market analysis, service standards and reporting processes. The certifi cate was presented during the company’s International Marketing & Communications Summit, hosted this year by subsidiary LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT in Bingen, Germany, where marketing and communications representatives from more than 30 countries attended the annual meeting.
