It’s that weird time of year for magazine editors when we’re only just into the month of December, but everything we write will be seen (probably) once all of the Christmas and New Year festivities have come and gone. I’ve not yet put up a single decoration as I write, but I’m sure many of you are already full of Toblerone and gin, wondering what the bathroom scales will say the next time you’re brave enough to stand on them. Good luck. It’s hard for me to believe that it’s a little over a year since I stepped into the Managing Editor role here on Casino International. I’d like to thank my boss Paul, my awesome Deputy, Anjali, and my heroic partner in crime, designer Tania, for a splendid first full year on the magazine. You all deserve whatever nice things you got for Christmas. A massive thanks also to all of my regular contributors – Ricki, Sharon, Victoria and Natalie, along with the great teams we get to work with at G2G, Gaming for Africa and Macau Business.

This issue is a relatively simple affair having finally got over the multi-issue G2E focus that’s ruled our world for the last few months. Obviously ICE is lurking in the 2024 bushes, so prepare for plenty of show-related content from next issue, but for now it’s business as usual, augmented by a feature on Electronic Table Games featuring some of the biggest names in the sector. This month also saw Ricki sit down with Bryan Smythe from IDVerse, while I got to chat with Galaxy Gaming’s VP of Product, Steve Cvetkoski. It’s always great to get face time with such key industry figures, so I urge you to check out those interviews. Other than that, I hope the festive season has served you well and you’re ready for 2024 – it’s going to be a BIG year! Ho ho ho.
