JUST SLOTS

Interview with Just Slots ahead of debut game

Slots, I worked for Push Gaming where I gained six years’ worth of extensive commercial experience. Here at Just Slots, we have already amassed a 25-person strong team, all with in-depth industry experience, showcasing what I believe to be a strong upward trajectory for the company. Regarding my role within the company, I oversee all the commercial aspects that occur within Just Slots, this includes sales of the games and building relationships with our customers. Alongside this, I like to involve myself in project management to streamline operations and aid the wider team. Most importantly, I love playing games, so it is easy for me to immerse myself in a wide variety of aspects relating to igaming development, as it taps into a core passion of mine.

Christine Parkhill, CCO at Just Slots, spoke to Gaming International’s Rory Kuypers to discuss the pressure of entering the competitive iGaming industry and the company’s first online slot release.

Rory Kuypers: Christine, can you provide some insights into your involvement with Just Slots?

Christine Parkhill: Just Slots is a software and game development company based in Malta, focused on crafting high-quality, engaging games that resonate both with operators and players. The company itself was created a year ago by a team of people from a range of different backgrounds. Before joining Just

RK: As a start-up company, how have you adapted to the competitive industry? CP: The igaming industry is simultaneously exciting, yet daunting, to operate in. It encourages innovation and creativity, and no idea is a bad idea. However, you need to remain agile and act proactively to stay on top of trends, being able to adapt your strategies to the changing regulatory landscape. At Just Slots, we’re committed to moving with the times, and have worked hard to ensure we’re ahead of the curve on these developments. In addition to this, players are typically seeking a more personalised gaming experience, with games that are not just fun but also customised to their tastes.

It is well known that igaming development is a notoriously competitive environment, and there are always new companies emerging in this market ready to disrupt the landscape. Because of this it is so important to strike a balance with being innovative, whilst at the same time giving players something somewhat familiar to provide equilibrium to continue to build customer loyalty.

RK: Just Slots is releasing its first game, can you tell us more? CP: Sugar Heaven will be our first game which will be released this September. In terms of its development process, it is currently at the stage where I can demo the game publicly, and even recently showcased it at iGB Live. We have worked unbelievably hard and it has been refreshing to hear such positive feedback about the game.

The game aims to be a very enjoyable experience with familiar mechanics, but with an innovative twist. I think players will be pleased with Sugar Heaven as it combines familiarity with something fresh.

RK: Just Slots also recently announced a partnership with Future Anthem, can you tell us if this collaboration can help the company reach its future goals? CP: Absolutely, as someone passionate about data, I believe we should leverage it more effectively to improve game development and decision-making—areas where I feel the industry could do more. In fact, this is one of the primary factors we decided to partner with Future Anthem, as their advanced AI and machine capabilities provide us with player analysis and in turn allow us to make informed data-driven decisions.

RK: What are your goals for the rest of the year? CP: We are working on four games now; Sugar Heaven and three others projected to launch by Q1. Next year, we will be looking to release one game per month and then increase to two games a month in 2026 to leverage our game cycle. We have heavily invested our time to build an efficient framework so that the production of these games is scalable. We will also be able to use feedback received from Sugar Heaven to adapt and improve our system for future games.
