Swedish self-exclusion failings

wedish gambling regulator Spelinspektionen has issued Paf Consulting, a subsidiary of the Åland Islands-based operator, after ruling that the two licensees breached the country’s self- exclusion regulations.

BlueRibbon lands supplier licence in Malta

arketing platform provider BlueRibbon has been awarded a supplier licence by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). The approval will allow BlueRibbon to work with Malta- licensed operators to create jackpot promotions to incentivise and reward their players with non-bonus- based prizes.
Already licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, the BlueRibbon platform enables operators to create, customise and control bespoke jackpots tailored to their business needs and that cater to all player segments and preferences. The platform can be used with online casino, sports betting, bingo, poker and live dealer games.

The approval comes after the MGA last week moved to cancel licences for two operators that had previously been active in its regulated market. Neptune Entertainment and Triton Gaming have both been ordered to shut down all operations with immediate effect. The MGA did not go into detail as to the reasons for the move.

Spelinspektionen has issued a series of warnings to operators about adhering to this licence requirement. The regulator also contacted Genesis Global shortly after the country’s regulated market opened warning that it faced serious sanctions if it did not
comply with self-exclusion rules. Genesis responded to this initial warning by saying that it had integrated with the registry, putting the initial issue down to a third party’s system failing to integrate with
Spelpaus.se. The operator also said it had contacted and refunded all affected players during this initial phase, closing all of the accounts in question. At the time, Genesis said: “Genesis always takes compliance and responsible gambling at the core of its business operations in order to ensure a safe gaming environment to its players. Therefore, any regulatory requirements and guidelines are being treated as highest priority.”
PAGCOR to clamp down on illegal gambling with new alliance
T
he Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has entered into a mutual cooperation agreement with four government agencies as part of an effort to tackle illegal online gambling in the Southeast Asian country. The regulator, along with the Philippine National Police (PNP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Office of Cybercrime (OOC) under the Department of Justice, will form an inter-agency council. The new council will assume
responsibility for both the gathering and sharing of intelligence information related to illegal online gambling, as well as exchanging, reporting and centralising this data.
The council will also oversee intelligence operations, surveillance, raids, arrests and prosecutions as part of the new effort. This will include forensic examination of cases, validating gaming licences and a visa certification, as well as filing the appropriate criminal and administrative charges against those that break laws. “We’ve been doing this for the last two years together with the investigative and

enforcement arms of the government like the NBI and the PNP,” PAGCOR chair and CEO, Andrea Domingo, said.
Formation of the new council is a direct response to Executive Order No. 13, s. 2017, which, issued by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, calls to “strengthen the fight against illegal gambling and to clarify the jurisdiction and authority of concerned agencies in the regulation and licensing of gambling and online gaming facilities”. The Office of the President will oversee the implementation of the Executive Order, which PAGCOR has said will reinforce its authority to regulate all games of chance, except those regulated by other regulatory bodies in their respective jurisdictions.
