WORKSURFACES & SPLASHBACKS
The Optidek Magnum Collection by Florim
Marble comes out on top with RAK Ceramics
With worksurfaces taking on a dual role of function and style in the modern kitchen, porcelain is the ideal material for this demanding space. Echoing the trends for stone-effect and nature-inspired design in the home, the latest surfaces from RAK Ceramics create a luxury look that is also highly durable and easy to care for. Among these is Versilia Marble from RAK Ceramics, a revised classy marble-inspired surface.
Tapping into the continental trend for worktops with a slim profile, Versilia Marble is 9mm thick and available in measurements from 60x120cm per tile. The Mega Slab format allows for greater consistency when used over large areas, with less need for grout lines and a seamless finish.

Optidek Ltd. was incorporated in 2021 and was previously known as Opticolour. Established in 2002, the South- West-based business originally started as a manufacturer, fabricator and installer of glass wall panelling, toughened and untoughened
6mm glass splashbacks, feature mirrors and worktops. Optidek exclusively features bespoke art glass by abstract artist Sally Coulden, owner of Red Dog Glass Design, and has recently launched its Artisan Collection of decorative wallpaper and fabric-backed toughened glass panels.
By extending its product portfolio to also include premium and decorative wall coverings made from quartz and stone materials, Optidek
partners with Cosentino to fabricate and install 4mm Dekton Slim cladding. New for 2023, the company has partnered with Florim, the B-Corp certified Italian porcelain stoneware brand to launch The Magnum Collection, a stunning range of 6mm large format 2360mm x 760mm magnum slabs. Available in four colours and in matt or gloss finishes, and exclusive to Optidek.

EGGER – Sleek and stylish worktops without the price tag C
ustomers are feeling the pinch, so it is time to offer high quality, low cost alternatives.
Solid stone and Quartz finishes are top of the priority list, but are often out of reach due to their hefty price tag. It is time to take a closer look at laminate worktops.
You can easily recreate the sleek and smooth surface of a solid surface top with EGGER’s range of 25mm worktops. Available in six realistic, high-end material and marble decors,
they are effortlessly elegant and can handle the pressure of a busy kitchen or bathroom environment
Never dismiss the power of a reproduction. More often than not, they outperform the original material in terms of durability and maintenance, and can be a more sustainable choice. With an unbranded solid stone worktop around 1100% more expensive than a 25mm square-edged laminate worktop, it would be remiss to not take a look.
