Q&A IMPEY Q&A

Matt: You’ve spoken previously about giving more attention to showrooms to better understand how to service those outlets. Will we see any further activity from you in that area this year? Chris: Understanding our customers is imperative for our continual growth and success. We focus on this by ensuring we have the right wetroom solutions for all of our customers and servicing our retailers to understand how they operate. Throughout 2024, we will continue to work with our retailers to help to build their businesses.

Matt: You’ve also talked about how you’ve restructured your sales team over the last few years. Can you tell us how that has worked and if you have any new initiatives to help your sales teams work smarter? Chris: Recognising the crossover of luxury showrooms operating in both Merchant and Retail channels, we have merged our sales teams, to allow them to offer the full portfolio of Coram UK products to all of our customers.

Throughout 2024 we will continue our schedule of internal training, coordinated by Shaun Hunt, who also heads-up our external wetroom training. Our sales team members are all knowledgeable on our full product portfolio, and able to provide up- to-date information on wetroom specification and installation across all locations and build types.

Matt: Can you talk a little about your expanding offering of accessible showering products in retailers and merchants? Chris: Accessible showering is no longer restricted to unappealing, institutional bathrooms. Whether

for personal use, visitors or maintaining independence, customers want to futureproof their bathrooms. Our retailers want to show examples of luxury accessible showering in their displays and with their offerings.

Practicality, functionality, flexibility, and safety are just some benefits of level-access showering and we are proud to be leading the way in the UK wetroom sector.

Matt: Sustainability is a key concern for every business now; can you talk a little about Impey’s efforts in this area? Chris: Impey is part of Coram UK, which encompasses five leading bathroom brands; Impey, Coram Showers, Geesa, Sealskin and Tiger. We have worked hard over recent years to ensure that we are continuously monitoring and improving our environmental objectives and targets.

Focus areas have included business-wide recycling (over 50 tonnes in 2023), removal of plastic packaging and a full overhaul of packaging methods and products. Other initiatives have been the replacement of staff vehicles with electric / hybrid, energy efficient lighting changes and assessment of IT protocols to save energy. We were delighted to make the shortlist for BMA’s sustainability awards in 2023 and will actively promote the continual improvement of our environmental performance throughout 2024.

Matt: What’s Impey’s approach to UK manufacturing? Chris: 2023 saw the investment of production at our manufacturing site in Shropshire. Impey is

committed to UK manufacturing and with this we are conscious of maintaining an environmentally friendly ethos. We keep abreast of new ways of working and maintain a keen interest in making our production process as sustainable as possible. Paul Gatfield heads up our manufacturing site in his role as Plant Manager. He joined the Senior Leadership Team in November 2023 and is integral to our manufacturing and business strategy as we continue to invest and develop our manufacturing capability for now and the future.

The whole team had an incredibly busy year and we proudly celebrated some incredible achievements

Matt: What can we expect from Impey across the rest of 2024? Chris: This year we will be expanding our product offering and focusing on maintaining the excellent levels of support we offer to all of our retailers.

James Walker, one of our longest serving and most knowledgeable team members will be focusing on larger specifications which will enable him to advise and support on key projects. Sustainable manufacturing will play a key role operationally and we will be targeting new achievements for 2024. And we will be working closely with our sister brands; Sealskin, Geesa, Coram Showers and Tiger to continue offering the most comprehensive level-access showering portfolio in the UK market.
