INDUSTRY UPDATE THE BMA COLUMN

Unified Water Label Association Partners with Installer Show 2024

BMA partners with kbb Birmingham 2024

he long-running kbb event takes place in Birmingham between 3rd and 6th March. Hosted by Informa Markets, the BMA, as a partner, is proud to be delivering three days of seminars.

T

Designed to inform and educate, the BMA’s three-day seminar programme, running from Monday, March 4, will include guest expert speakers discussing a range of topics with the BMA Chief Executive, Tom Reynolds.

With attendees from the retail sector, interior designers, architects, installers, property developers, and house builders, the event is essential for discovering more about the latest products, innovations, launches, and market trends.

One of the many priorities for the BMA in 2024 is that of health and well-being. From emphasising the use of Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs) to prevent serious scalding incidents to explaining disease-causing pathogens caused by ‘toilet plume’ and preventing outbreaks of Legionnaires’ disease, the first seminar on Monday, March 4 at 10.30 will examine how better bathrooms can lead to better health and wellbeing. We’ll delve into how we can create more awareness to better protect the public and what dangers we should be aware of.

Trend-spotting in the bathroom will also be covered during a session on March 4, with a further session on March 5 examining what innovations are making a splash. One guest panellist includes Monty Ravenscroft, the creator of the Hidealoo, which was featured in Channel 4’s Grand Designs. Space-saving innovations like the Hidealoo can help small spaces function in astonishing ways. We’ll also be joined by experts from Geberit and Kohler Mira to understand what the future holds for bathrooms as manufacturers look to combine beautiful aesthetics with modern technologies. Wednesday, 6 March, will see the BMA’s Research Manager, Jane Blakeborough, deliver the results from a critical research project examining what goes on ‘Behind the Bathroom Door’. Everyday bathroom behaviours are analysed in this research, including the most significant barriers to reducing water consumption as a critical aspect. We’ll uncover people’s habits, with the data coming from the activities of households taken during the study via an online diary format.

The full programme for our panel discussions will be available on the kbb Birmingham website. Registration is free, so book your place today!

he Unified Water Label Association is delighted that it is once again partnering with the Installer Show. The 2024 show takes place at the NEC on 25-27 June and show organisers, Lyrical Communications are expecting more than 20,000 visitors.

New for 2024, Installer Kitchens & Bathrooms will showcase the role technology and innovation play in shaping the kitchens and bathrooms of the future, to a dedicated audience of installers, specifiers, designers, developers, manufacturers and retailers.

UWLA MD Yvonne Orgill said, “I am delighted to be partnering with the successful Installer show once again. The event provides the ideal platform for us to promote our water efficiency message. “Installers have a crucial role to play in influencing consumer choice by promoting products that carry the UWL. The outstanding growth we have seen in the use of the UWL, presents installers with a huge selection of innovative products that are designed to use water wisely, without compromising on quality. Installers do not have to compromise on design or performance when selecting environmentally friendly products to promote to their customers. These products can be sourced easily from our database of almost 17,000 products.

“Many of Europe’s most well-known and well respected brands offer bathroom products that carry the UWL, providing significant choice to the consumer.

“We will have a host of FREE information and marketing tools for installers at the show and look forward to engaging with them.”
