HOT, COLD & FILTERED TAPS Stuart Greenwood

CARYSIL Brassware Ltd part of the CARYSIL Group

Matt Broughton spoke to CARYSIL Brassware Ltd Managing Director, Stuart Greenwood, about new products for 2024, and the desire to deliver “bottle quality water on demand”.

023 was an exciting year, as CARYSIL Brassware Ltd integrated into the CARYSIL Global group, opening up many exciting opportunities. The company also developed, designed and introduced a range of unique kitchen brassware for both kitchen mixers and instant boiling water hot taps that launched at the end of 2023. “We noticed that customers were aware of the economic change and the value of money,” says Stuart. “Maintaining quality and reliability was a requirement, as well as having products that met certified standards like WRAS approval. Hot Taps particularly needed to be NHBC Code G3 compliant for our merchant and contract customers. We’ve worked hard to satisfy those needs and still offer competitive pricing and a wide range of designs to suit the customers’ needs. Customers desires and market trends are fluid, and it is important to listen to the flow.”

CARYSIL stands as a distinguished industry leader with over 35 years of unparalleled global experience and expertise in the design, manufacture, and supply of middle to top end kitchen solutions. Renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation, CARYSIL has established itself as a trusted name in the industry. Specializing in sinks, taps, hot water taps, kitchen

accessories, and solid surface solutions, the company has played a pivotal role in shaping modern kitchen aesthetics and functionality. With a strong global footprint, CARYSIL operates in over 65 countries, maintaining a significant presence in key markets such as the UK, USA, Germany, France, China, and India. The brand’s widespread acclaim is a testament to its unwavering dedication to delivering cutting-edge products and setting the benchmark for excellence in the kitchenware industry.

2024 looks to launch some key new products: A new 6-in-1 smart tap has been developed that can deliver 98°c hot water, chilled drinking, chilled sparkling soda water, ambient filtered cold drinking water, and domestic hot and cold water. Stuart explains: “The unique design incorporates our carved diamond quilt pattern set into the body of the tap with an easy-to-understand digital touch keypad that delivers desired water on demand. We’re launching a complete range of filtered kitchen mixer taps in a range of six body colours and a large choice of tube and handle combinations.” The company has three divisions

in the UK: CARYSIL Surfaces Ltd, CARYSIL Products Ltd and CARYSIL Brassware Ltd: “Between us we have a strong product offering across surfaces, sinks and taps and we feel confident that we will grow our UK business in 2024 by working creatively for our customers.” I ask Stuart about CARYSIL’s work on sustainability. “We fully recognise the need for sustainability and our group companies are all looking at ways to achieve this. At CARYSIL Brassware Ltd, our 2024 quilted design brassware will be accompanied by a mains water filter kit as standard and we will be delivering “bottle quality water on demand” directly from the cold supply on our taps. We are achieving this through filtration technology that not only has minimal flow restriction but uses high-capacity media cartridges that are fully recyclable. By using a BPA free refillable drinking vessel, it is now possible to reduce the amount of discarded plastic bottles by having delicious cold drinking water direct from your tap.”

In the UK there are over 13 billion plastic bottles used every year and only a fraction get recycled - the majority being discarded and ending up in landfill or our oceans. “We believe it is possible to give your body the water it deserves whilst reducing plastic waste. I think filtered cold drinking water from your normal kitchen tap will be expected in the very near future.”
