As one of the most energy intensive industries, there is a big responsibility on KBB manufacturers and suppliers to source sustainable materials, as well as ensuring products are as water and energy efficient as possible. As a key event in the industries calendar, it is important for us as organisers of the BKU Awards to also play our part and contribute.


With the help and support of our amazing sustainability partners, the BKU Awards is now a certified Carbon Neutral Event. By working closely with carbon reduction engineers and the Royal Lancaster Hotel who are also on a sustainability journey of their own to become carbon neutral, we have meticulously calculated all the carbon the event produces. The Business Carbon Assessments were completed by an independent third party to the international standard and the GHG Protocol which is internationally recognised. Once complete, we offset all the carbon produced by the event by purchasing solar cooking for refugee families in Africa.
