INDUSTRY VIEWS Function and aesthetic in the bathroom

Long forgotten are the cold, drab and dreary bathrooms of the past, why should a bathroom be boring just because it’s a functional space? This summer, inject some individuality into your bathroom. For instance, if this is a family bathroom destined for toys in the tub and teeth brushing

encouragement at the basin, why not make the bathroom space a fun one with splashes of colour or perhaps an unexpected statement lighting choice. Conversely, if you are craving a bathroom for relaxation and calm, consider bringing the outside in

with plants and biophilic accessories. Pairing unique design choices with functional products such as integrated vanity units, mirror cabinets

or space maximising wall hung bathroom furniture will create a bathroom that is perfectly balanced with both style and practicality. We recommend investing in versatile long waring bathroom ceramics that will last for years as your

style adapts and changes. Comment by Holly Aspinall, Marketing Manager, Retail and AquaClean

Working Together

“During my time in the kitchen industry, especially that spent in the premium appliance sector, it has become clear to me that showrooms deserve the full support of the manufacturers whose products they choose to display. Now more than ever in these challenging times, showrooms need partners who fundamentally understand and back their business. Whether that is preferential terms based on the performance or ambition of a studio, an understanding of the importance of hassle- free premium after-sales for both the showroom and their clients, and the delivery of expert product knowledge that comes from well thought out in store training. ovens, for example, have enormous potential, but to fully exploit that the designer needs the support of the manufacturer to help identify the right fit client and then have the tools to clearly explain how a combination steam oven can improve their clients cooking experience.”

Shower system flexibility

“Shower systems are a great way to transform bathroom spaces and we’re seeing a continued growth in interest. The systems provide flexibility and an extra touch of luxury, with both rain showers and hand sprays that would ordinarily require a built-in shower (and often a full refurbishment to bathroom areas) to achieve. This is something that’s both costly and disruptive for customers. “Shower systems, instead, offer an exposed alternative to built-in showers,

providing the same capabilities and functionalities at a lower cost. Installing exposed shower systems can be a relatively simple process too, with minimal time needed for professional installers to add the full system into place. “The systems

also work well to provide extra space storage, with optional shelving, which further elevates the bathroom without the need for a complete rework. We expect to see shower systems continue to grow in popularity as more people become aware of this flexible, cost-effective alternative.”
