Forbo refreshes three design ranges with contemporary colour palettes Reaffirming its expertise in commercial textile floor coverings, Forbo Flooring Systems has curated a refreshed colour palette for three of its core design ranges within the Tessera collection of carpet tiles: Layout, Outline and Inline. These latest updates reflect the ever-evolving colour trends within education and office interiors, shifting the Tessera palette from bright, bold and eccentric accents to

more muted and softer styled colourways, in turn enhancing its compatibility with modern design. The updated Layout and Outline ranges consist of a selection of 41 colourways, (34 Layout and 7 Outline) each bringing a new level of elegance to the low-level loop category of carpet tiles. Inline’s multi-level loop construction provides a unique pattern and texture which is available in 12 colourways, each incorporating subtle pops of colour.

Cork wall appeal Cork wall coverings are making a stylish comeback, bringing warmth, texture and natural character to every room. Statement walls have long been a go-to decorating trick, but today’s interiors are moving beyond bold paint colours and oversized murals. Instead, homeowners are embracing tactile, natural materials that add depth as well as personality, with cork emerging as one of the most exciting wall finishes for modern living. Known for its distinctive texture and sustainable credentials, cork is being reimagined in everything from sculptural 3D panels to stone-inspired finishes and contemporary colourways. Cork wall coverings from Granorte create visual interest while also offering practical benefits, including improved acoustic comfort and thermal insulation, making them an ideal choice for busy homes.

Helping transfrom product reuse Project Reuse has launched three practical flowcharts designed to help the finishes and interiors sector unlock greater opportunities for reusing products. The new resources, available from www.thefis.org provide a clear, step- by-step framework for stakeholders involved in deconstruction, refurbishment and new-build projects, supporting more consistent decision-making and increasing confidence in product reuse. Developed throughout the project, the flowcharts capture the processes identified by the Project Reuse team as current best practice. While they reflect today’s operating environment, they have been designed as living guidance that will continue to evolve as reuse becomes more established across the commercial construction sector.

New DfE design rules for school sports floors Under the DfE’s new construction framework, CF 25, timber floors must be specified for multi-purpose halls, sports halls and activity studios where FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment) is used within the space. This includes retractable seating, desk and chairs for when the hall is used for exams, dining furniture, as well as machinery. The type of timber allowed is maple, beech or oak; solid hardwood or engineered wood with a minimum hardwood veneered surface of 6mm. Junckers has several flooring systems that comply with the new rules that will also help meet the

new targets for biogenic content and embodied carbon for both new build and refurbished school buildings. The systems conform to the European standard BS EN 14904:2006 and have a proven lifespan of 60+ years, aligned with the design life the building.

A straight-forward maintenance regime with a 25-year warranty gives the client, contractor and designer confidence in the product long-

term. Junckers has created a new RIBA approved CPD that explains all the new DfE regulations for sports and multi-purpose flooring. www.junckers.co.uk
