First in the industry: Prestigious Red Dot Award 2026 for biobased kitchen range Keller Kitchens, part of DKG, has received the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2026 for its biobased kitchen range enduura elba. This recognition highlights the sustainable and innovative direction DKG has pursued for many years. With enduura elba, Keller introduces a kitchen built around biobased raw materials used in components such as fronts, cabinets and shelving. These are manufactured
from biobased chipboard using a tannin-based binder derived from tree bark. The material is produced without the addition of extra formaldehyde and contributes to approximately 30% lower CO emissions compared to conventional chipboard. The surface layer also utilises renewable resources: the melamine resin is largely produced using Dutch biogas.
Durability that doesn’t compromise comfort Durability is a key factor in the specification of kitchen and bathroom flooring in social housing, and Beauflor cushion vinyl flooring is the first line of defence against premature wear and early replacement. For the best in durability, Xtreme and Phoni-Xtreme feature a 0.70mm wear layer for exceptional durability, meaning these floors deliver impressive wear performance and can withstand constant use. In fact, with a 10-year commercial use warranty; you’re unlikely to find a more durable option that’s also as affordable and comfortable. With a wear layer over twice as thick as domestic sheet vinyl floors and Beauflor’s low maintenance Protech coating, these floors resist scuffs, scratches and daily abrasion, reducing telltale signs of visible wear – particularly important when maintenance schedules in private areas can’t be guaranteed.

Box Pro workstation sink range blends elegance and functionality Franke’s new premium stainless steel Box Pro range transforms the sink into a professional-style preparation zone designed for streamlined cooking and effortless organisation. At the heart of the design is an intelligent 3-level system that transforms the traditional sink area into a multifunctional workspace. The lower level provides generous depth
for washing large cookware comfortably with reduced splashing, while the middle ledge supports the rollamat, which functions as both a drying rack and heat- resistant surface for hot pans. On the upper level, the maple chopping board and stainless steel strainer bowl can be positioned exactly where needed to support a seamless workflow. Together, the accessories create a highly efficient preparation station.

A premium alternative to stainless steel Stainless steel has long been the go-to choice for contract and specification projects, but it no longer needs to be the only option. Clearwater Products’ Granite Mio Compact range offers specifiers a competitively priced alternative, combining the premium look and feel of granite with practical design and accessible pricing. Designed specifically with compact kitchen spaces in mind,
the Mio Compact range features scaled-down dimensions and a slender profile depth, making the sinks particularly well suited to galley kitchens and smaller layouts. Available in a choice of configurations, including single bowl and
drainer, 1.5 bowl and drainer, and a round bowl option, the range provides flexibility across a variety of projects. Models feature reversible designs, pre-scored tap holes and standard waste kits, helping to simplify specification and installation.

The appeal of lived in kitchens There’s a noticeable shift underway in kitchen design, with homeowners increasingly moving away from ultra-polished, minimal spaces in favour of something softer, warmer and more characterful – a direction that Ashford Kitchens & Interiors is seeing referred to as the rise of the “lived-in” kitchen. Rather than feeling newly installed or overly styled, these
kitchens are designed to feel settled and inviting from the outset. Across the brand’s recent projects, this is expressed through a careful mix of painted cabinetry in muted greens and deep blues, warm neutral backdrops and natural timber accents, all working together to create spaces that feel relaxed and grounded. Subtle variations in tone and texture, from honed stone worktops to aged brass hardware, add depth without overwhelming the overall scheme.
