Editor’s Letter Happy New Year, everyone!

A sentiment that is usually purely trivial with no intention behind it, but for us at Sign Update, the new year brings a lot of new changes.

First off, this issue marks my first full year working on the title, and in that time, I have come to meet so many wonderful people in the industry, and I cannot wait to meet many more this year.

This issue also marks the first official magazine Ana has been actively contributing towards the content; she is an amazing, bright woman, and I guarantee that comes across in her reporting.

For both of us, it also marks the first issue without Melanie, who has overseen the title through a rebranding, reshuffle, and so much more. We are standing on the shoulders of giants, and we only hope to do her proud while she raises her baby girl into the world.

So with that, to the content. As always, the first issue of the year comes with a heftier pagination to make room for the Sign & Digital UK preview. From page 34, readers will be able to get a sneak peek at what is to take place at the NEC at the end of February. From kit launches to workshops, learn about it all right here.

But this doesn’t replace our normal features with Ana diving straight into her role by talking to Widd about the future direction of one of the oldest sign making companies in the country. Also, in light of SDUK’s co-location with Printwear & Promotion LIVE! once again, Ana took a stab at explaining the benefits of the diversification of services and how doing so could open new revenue for your business. Both features can be found on pages 54 and 70, respectively.

All this is included alongside the usual focus features and industry columns that can be found in every issue, helping this one to be jam-packed with useful advice and insights for our readers.

We all hope you enjoy this issue, and if you are making your presence known at SDUK this year, feel free to flag either me or Ana down for a chat; we’d love to hear from you.
