Mountain Print installs new printer and cutter from CMYUK M
ountain Print has invested in a new Mimaki JFX500-2131 UV LED flatbed printer and a
JWEI JCUT-3230 digital cutting table from CMYUK. The investment in the Mimaki JFX500-2131 was driven by the company’s experience with Mimaki technology, along with the standout feature of the printer’s ability to print with white ink. Darrell Mountain, owner of Mountain
Print, said: “The white ink has just enhanced capabilities in-house for our clients, which we’ve never
had before. Previously any white ink jobs had to be outsourced but now we can handle everything internally, saving time and money.” With the new JWEI JCUT-3220 digital
cutting table, the company can now print and cut acrylic in-house, as the machine can handle materials such as, card printing to custom boxes, sign trays and more. Mr Mountain added: “We’ve saved 80% of labour just by transitioning to the flatbed, printing direct to substrate, and then cutting. Previously, we were printing to vinyl, applying it to board, and
Puzzle makers praise Roland DG printer S
OS has enjoyed spectacular success with the Roland DG EU-1000MF flatbed printer in 2025 with the latest installation at Isle of Wight printer Meridian 3. The 1.2x2.4m UV LED machine was
purchased from SOS with the aim of meeting a growing demand for some unusual products. Baz Smith, MD of Meridian 3, explained that they got into the flatbed market due to a customer’s request for jigsaw puzzles. He said: “We were delighted when the market took off. We then expanded
into producing all kinds of promotional products, especially personalised notebook covers.” He added: “There are plenty of flatbeds out there, but we liked the look of the Roland which is clearly a high-quality, hi-tech machine from a reliable manufacturer. It’s faster than our old machine, with better software, but also bigger, meaning we can print multiple jigsaws at once.”

textured effects, and work on rigid substrates such as acrylic, glass and wood as well as the fabric substrates it is widely known for. Krit Patel, managing director at
Printvision, said: “This is an altogether different machine in our line-up. The Kudu will give a wider offering to our customers. We are exploring printing on many more substrates with even greater creativity.” The printer was installed at one of

Engineering has taken
stock of two Sinocolor printers
supplied and supported by China Print Supplies (CPS). The Loughborough-based company, until recently relied heavily on outsourcing much of its print work, so it turned to CPS for two key machines: the Sinocolor UR3200S roll-to-roll printer and the Sinocolor FB-2513 flatbed. Harvey Scarborough-Wilkins, visual media alchemist at Event Engineering, said: “There are times when we’ll get a last-minute change that needs printing within a couple of hours before it goes on a courier. Before, we just couldn’t do that.” Event Engineering’s first big job on the
new printers was for HSBC’s Airport Lounge, which took place at Goodwood Revival earlier this year. The team produced five rear-printed 8mm clear acrylic sheets, lit from behind, along with a surrounding holiday island backdrop made up of four sections of black fabric print-wrapped around wooden flats. Mr Scarborough-Wilkins added: “Events
move fast. These printers have made it possible for us to move just as fast and still deliver at the quality our clients expect.”
