Industry leaders unite to launch the Sustainable Print Manifesto
T
he ‘Sustainable Print Manifesto’, an independent, industry-wide initiative
has been created to provide a simple, practical, and relevant sustainability framework across all print sectors.
The manifesto aims to show the print industry that more collaboration is how to accelerate progress, while also providing a blueprint for continual improvement, shared learning, and improved collective progress. Brought about by working groups, webinars and articles, the manifesto has been made collaboratively with printers,
strategist at HP, one of the founding partners, said: ‘‘I believe in the value of print and the positive impact it has in the world. But I also believe that there’s still room for improvement.

“To accelerate innovation and progress, collaboration is key. Collaboration built on trust and transparency, towards a shared goal. This is what this manifesto aims for, and this is why I pledge to its principles.” The manifesto also sets out nine practical principles, including choosing better, lower-impact materials and ink, minimising waste, reducing carbon and energy consumption and recycling and reusing operational materials.

5Media has announced that it has gone into voluntary liquidation after reported issues with rental payment negotiations. The board of directors of the out-of-home media company made the decision after negotiations with billboard landlords failed to reach an agreement. As reported on the Daily DOOH, the company went into voluntary liquidation due to needing to reduce or restructure their billboard rental payments with its infrastructure landlord, however after failing to reach an agreement the company filed for liquidation. KR8 Advisory was appointed to begin process of placing the company into voluntary liquidation with immediate effect. Speaking on LinkedIn, the 75Media directors said: “We are profoundly grateful to everyone who has been part of 75Media. While today’s announcement marks the end of our trading journey, we hope that the impact we have made together across the roadside advertising landscape will endure for many years to come.”
