Global OOH spend breaks $40bn barrier

Global OOH spend in 2023 reached $41.9bn and represented 5.2% of global ADEX. OOH spend is forecast to grow to $45.3bn in 2024. These are figures from the 2024 WOO Expenditure survey conducted among the World Out of Home Organisation’s members and OOH associations across the world. The 2024 survey was completed by 109 members, covering 85 territories - collectively representing 95% of global GDP and 78% of global population. Regionally APAC dominates with almost half of global OOH spend at $20.2bn across 40% of global GDP

. Europe

reports $10.3bn revenue, 25% of the total in line with its share of global GDP

.

Global DOOH expenditure rose to $16.7bn USD in 2023 representing almost 37% of all OOH revenues and remains the main driver of OOH revenue growth globally. Investment in DOOH infrastructure varies across the world with Europe ahead of the global average at 39.2%.

Programmatically traded DOOH grew to a reported total spend of $1.2bn USD globally, representing 8.1% of total DOOH revenues. Although this data is not captured commonly across all markets so may be under representative of the total revenue traded this way. The WOO said it anticipates significant growth to this figure in the 2025 report through a combination of increasing market adoption and more comprehensive reporting programmatically traded revenue. Meanwhile, a reminder that WOO is to hold

its first in-person European Regional Forum in Milan on 4-6 November.

Resysten Launches Clean Air Go

New from Resysten International is Clean Air Go for the live events and visual communications industry. The product targets and breaks down atmospheric air pollutants, including Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), a major contributor to poor air quality. It provides a 60-day NOx removal performance for printed outdoor media campaigns, retail point-of-sale graphics and event signage. “Following the success of our antimicrobial products and the groundbreaking Clean Air by Resysten launched on Clean Air Day 2023, Clean Air Go will further enhance our commitment to improving air quality,” said Shajjad Rizvi MBE, CEO of Resysten International.

Clean Air Go resists the build-up of fine

particulates, mould and algae on surfaces. This not only keeps graphics cleaner but also reduces water usage in cleaning regimes. Leveraging Resysten’s antimicrobial technology, Clean Air Go acts as a surface disinfectant, limiting the spread of viruses and harmful bacteria on high-touch areas.

Meanwhile, Service Graphics, part of the

Paragon Group, has extended its collaboration with Resysten to offer the Clean Air anti- pollution coating on print from across its family of operations. Its Octink trading arm has been offering the solution for some time.

Moss brings SustainaTex Ocean fabric to UK

Moss has introduced a 100% post-consumer waste recycled dye-sub printable material called SustainaTex Ocean into the UK market. The company said that fabric - initially launched in the US - is ideal for silicone edged graphic (SEG) applications. It is made from 62% Seaqual yarn, a traceable material produced from upcycled marine plastic retrieved from oceans, beaches, rivers, and estuaries by the Seaqual Initiative, with the remainder from recycled polyester. “The introduction of SustainaTex Ocean in the UK underlines our unwavering dedication to sustainability,” said Moss UK managing director Michael Green. “This fabric provides our clients with another high-quality, environmentally friendly option for their graphics and displays. We are place makers, and that means we also want to make our oceans a better place, too. This partnership is the perfect way to help keep our oceans clean and minimise our clients’ environmental impact.” Moss printed SustainaTex Ocean graphics can also be sent back to the company for re- processing, ensuring a responsible end-of-life for the product.
