In other news from the swiss manufacturer, swissQprint printer users now have the option of using the PrintFactory Rip.

TAKTIFUL SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS A new US-based company called Taktiful Software Solutions launched three products for the print embellishment space at Drupa, with founder and CEO Kevin Abergel promising that the UK wide-format print sector is within its sights following an initial focus on its domestic market in 2024. The company’s first SaaS products are:

The table design enables the use of tilted devices for printing on gently curved or uneven surfaces.

“Based on their material and application needs, customers can choose the best solution from five different models, including three 64in width models with a choice of three different table sizes with vacuum beds, and two 30in width models, one with a vacuum bed,” said Tony Miller, president, global sales and marketing division. The printers come with VersaWorks 6 software, Roland DG’s Rip, which processes PDF, EPS, PS files and auto-generates White, Gloss and Primer layers with one button. The CO-i printers also support cloud-based services, including Roland DG Connect and PrintAutoMate.

SAI

As a result of efforts to rationalise its line-up of Flexi software, SAi has brought out Flexi Complete, an all-in-one design, print-and-cut software for sign and print providers. In this new package finishing tools are integrated into the design workflow, instead of being options to be applied in Production Manager. By using the DesignCentral control panel, users can customise elements directly and achieve precise bleeds with multiple options.

There are two new nesting options within Production Manager. These allow job images to be viewed during movement and layouts to be updated with a simple checkbox. Additional features like manual overlapping, zoom options, and vertical alignment tools offer increased precision and efficiency. An intuitive custom weed path tool means weed lines can be created simply by drawing a path over any vector object.

SWISSQPRINT

Taktify - an AI-powered estimating and pricing software platform that provides the costs of production as well as the estimated market value for embellished print based on variables including job complexity, applications, zip/post codes, industry verticals etc. Reaktor - an art file visualiser that allows users to proof and experiment with different embellishment effects in a virtual 3D environment.

Kreator - a generative AI tool automating the creative process to quickly and efficiently design embellishment files for print using Taktiful’s proprietary training platform. “We fully anticipate that Taktify will integrate wide-format equipment for estimation and pricing purposes by 2025,” says Abergel.

VANGUARD

Vanguard Europe used Fespa Global for the first public showing of its newly designed VKR3200-HS roll-to-roll printer, capable of handling a single 3.2m roll of media or any two-roll configuration of up to 1.6m. The new iteration boasts a new software and novel GUI that enables processing of job order requirements independently for each of the dual rolls on the machine.

An automated unloading option for its flatbed printers was presented by swissQprint at Drupa. The module - shown working with the Kudo printer as the show - removes processed media up to 3.2×2m from the print table. It should be available in 2025.

ZUND Zund’s Q-Line cutters with BHS180 board handling system and integrated undercam optical capturing system were shown for the first time at a trade show at Drupa. Launched earlier this year, the integrated system is intended for the demands of industrial finishing of printed boards for displays and packaging. Working together, the new machine components generate a speed of up to 2.8m/s. Acceleration of up to 2.1g is made possible by a new, linear drive system. The new substructure for Q-Line cutters is made from concrete to ensure optimum cutting precision even at extremely high speeds.
