PHAM NEWS | APRIL 2025 Exhibition Review 15
Showcasing new solutions for a sustainable future
With over 2000 exhibitors and visitors from 150 countries, ISH retains its crown for being Europe’s biggest and most important exhibition for the HVAC and sanitation industry. Taking place in Frankfurt every two years, the 2025 event took Solutions for a Sustainable Future as its main theme, reflecting concerns about the need for conserving resources and the development of more eco-friendly technology. Here we pick out some of the highlights at this year’s show.
T
aking place over five days in March, this year’s trade fair once again provided visitors with an opportunity
to catch up on the latest cutting- edge advances in energy efficient heating and cooling systems, water management and contemporary bathroom design. Not surprisingly, the latest
advances in environmentally- friendly heat pumps took centre stage on many of the heating stands, as exhibitors looked to showcase more sustainable heating systems and energy storage solutions. Intelligent building control systems, allowing for more precise management of heating and ventilation processes, were also on display, as well as smart water management solutions and wastewater heat recovery systems. Visitors to the bathroom halls
were able to get up to speed with the latest design trends, including splashes of colour and touch-free fittings. Other contemporary bathroom concepts on display included 3D tiles, and resource-efficient, low- maintenance materials designed to combine aesthetic appeal with technological innovation. Alongside product innovations,
ISH 2025 also offered a busy conference programme, providing a platform for expert dialogue on key industry topics. The Building Future Conference brought
together experts from politics, business and science to discuss sustainable construction concepts and efficient energy supply solutions, while the Value of Water Conference focused on the importance of access to clean water and safe sanitation. For those unable to get to
this year’s event, here’s a brief overview of just a small sample of the exhibitors and products on display over the five days:
Viessmann Taking the opportunity to highlight the benefits of its multi-brand portfolio following its integration with Carrier, Viessmann Climate Solutions used ISH 2025 to launch its ‘Power Play as One Team’ theme which
underlines the newly created alliance of Viessmann, Carrier, Riello and Beretta. The company says it is now able to cover all price segments and meet the diverse needs of customers in both residential and commercial sectors with heating, ventilation and cooling solutions for all output ranges. In the UK, Viessmann’s heat pump product focus is the Vitocal 150-A and 151-A domestic air source heat pumps and the recently launched Vitocal 250-A Pro,
a natural refrigerant- powered heat pump, for apartment buildings and small commercial applications, with outputs from 20 to 40 kW.
Vaillant Presenting a fully updated and expanded heat pump portfolio,
Vaillant’s latest models use the R290 refrigerant and have been designed for easy installation and commissioning. The new aroTHERM pro heat pump, available in three outputs (5, 7 and 11kW), is a particularly compact and space-saving model, designed to provide heating in both new and upgraded buildings. All aroTHERM models are
equipped with safety features designed to minimise the restrictions previously associated with outdoor-unit installation, such as distances from basement windows and shafts.
Vaillant heat pumps are also
equipped with iQconnect, a newly developed electronic system with integrated control technology and a touch display designed for ease of use. For installers, iQconnect simplifies and speeds
up the installation process, as it significantly reduces the effort required for wiring and commissioning.
Stiebel Eltron Having designed its first heat pump in 1976, the German manufacturer can claim to be one of the first companies to enter the market and used this year’s ISH to announce the next stage in its product development. Stiebel Eltron’s latest generation is said to set new standards in terms of installation, efficiency, noise levels and sustainability. Operating on R290 refrigerant,
the range includes air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and integral ventilation units. For ease of installation, all system- relevant components have been integrated and the installation and connection concept is the same for all models. New clamp connections mean that any electrical connections are quick and intuitive, helping to ensure an error-free installation.
Panasonic Looking to showcase its complete range of central heating solutions for multi-family homes and commercial buildings, highlights on the Panasonic stand included the Big Aquarea T-CAP M Series, capable of delivering 20 to 30kW per unit and scalable up to 300kW in cascade. This space-saving system maintains full capacity at 55°C water outlet even at -15°C outdoor temperatures.
