AV COMES OF AGE IN THE MODERN OFFICE

As businesses embrace hybrid working and transform their workplaces into more dynamic spaces, video conferencing and collaboration have become essential. ollaboration and hybrid working are now accepted parts of modern work. Whether they are in the office or in the

home, workers now expect to interact smoothly and effectively. Tey also want and expect the experience to be good in both places. This has led to growing interest and activity around meeting room systems and audiovisual solutions and equipment – and a whole stack of opportunities for IT reseller and retailer partners. The challenge is how to approach this huge

potential – it can seem bewildering if you have little experience of setting up collaboration spaces. And while resellers could easily take a simplistic approach and encourage customers to make use of the audio and video on their laptops (which, admittedly, is of a much better standard now than it was a decade ago), that’s not going to satisfy most organisations today. They do not want something that will simply do the job – they want a set-up that will allow their employees to perform at their best and make a positive impression on the customers and suppliers they will be engaging with over these systems.

24 | May/June 2026 In this article, I have looked at collaboration

solutions in terms of the size and scale of the meeting environment, which should also help you work out what kind of offering you need to take to your own customer base.

Small meeting rooms and huddle spaces Most businesses will need to have several meeting room spaces available in which smaller teams of maybe two to six employees can gather to take part in a conference call together. Tis size of room is also ideal for most smaller businesses with a handful of staff. Tey will usually want to look professional, but don’t need anything over the top. Tere is a tremendous choice in this part

of the market, typified by Microsoſt Express Teams Rooms solutions. Tese will usually be pre-configured combinations – display, a conferencing bar, cameras, microphones, and other audiovisual hardware products – designed for swiſt and simple deployment. Tere are plenty of options here, oſten
