Building the digital classroom
elcome to the March/April issue of PCR. Education in the UK has always moved with the times,
but the pace of change has never felt quite as sharp as it
does today. Classrooms are now influenced as much by technology as by teaching, and every device, network and platform plays a part in how pupils learn, connect and grow. When the tech works, it opens doors. When it doesn’t, the impact can be immediate, especially for
students who rely on consistent support. This month’s education special looks at the realities behind that trend. Harvina Bains of
ASUS explores why reliability is essential for SEND learners, not a luxury. Zyxel’s Rachel Rothwell sets out how schools can take a practical approach to cybersecurity without stretching budgets, and D Link’s Mark Carty and Alan Jones speak frankly about the pressures on IT teams and why partners must understand the real world of school infrastructure.
From smarter sourcing and lifecycle planning with SCC’s Rebecca Tyler, to TP Link’s Ben
Bayly on building networks that can keep up with modern classrooms, the message is clear: digital learning needs solid foundations. Seagate’s Samehra Malik highlights the growing importance of storage, while Synaxon’s Mike Barron and KnowBe4’s Javvad Malik show how partners can support schools through rapid change.
Across the board, the opportunity is growing, but so is the responsibility. Along with our regular features, I hope you find this informative and interesting.
