BEYOND THE PLATFORM


E-commerce platforms and cloud and product marketplaces have become essential to the efficient operation of the IT channel – but people and personalised service still have an absolutely vital role to play, says Simon Bennett, managing director – Advanced Solutions, UK&I, TD Synnex.

oſtware and cloud sales are essential elements of business for every reseller partner today. Most activity in these areas concerns the


renewal of licences and subscriptions and the monitoring and billing of consumption. With a multiplicity of soſtware solutions and cloud services in use across the customer base, identifying when a contract is coming up for renewal, contacting the customer, generating a quote, and then processing the updated order or new subscription can be complicated. Tis is why streamlining and automating


processes through self-service platforms has become so important in the channel. But while they do have a vital role to play in supporting and advancing our businesses, we should remember that channel businesses need to be much more than an online marketplace. Beyond the platform, there are multiple ways in which we add value, and that personal customer service and people remain the very heart of what we do.

Core business For TD Synnex UK and Ireland, soſtware solutions and cloud services are crucial parts of our core business. Tey make up approximately half the revenue we generate through our Advanced Solutions division. Last year, we grew our market share significantly, and we are widely recognised as a distribution leader in these fields. TD Synnex is the only UK distributor to work with all the big three hyperscalers – AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoſt. We are the number one UK distributor for many of the leading players. We have over 100 dedicated coworkers in our cloud


team, almost all of whom hold vendor specialisations. Trough our StreamOne aggregation platform, we enable partners to automate operations and manage customers efficiently, while keeping costs down and simplifying billing processes.
