Sustainability Spotlight A
gilitas has unveiled its eVentory Charter to mark the latest step in its ongoing commitment to providing sustainable inventory management services across the IT Channel. Te announcement coincides with the launch of Agilitas’
Sustainability Pledge that sees the company commit to ‘Act with Impact’, to create a circular economy that supports a more sustainable and healthy future. Tis pledge is built around three core pillars - Planet, People and Partners - that drives the company to place the planet at its heart, build a sustainable culture and support partners with solutions and services that reduce environmental impact. Shaun Lynn, CEO explains.
Please could you explain a bit more about the Agilitas eVentory Charter? Our e-Ventory Charter was formed as part of Agilitas’ commitment to delivering sustainable inventory management. In our charter, we have outlined the elements of our services, operational and internal initiatives that contribute to this mission and how we support a circular economy. We are extremely passionate about our new sustainability
pledge, which discusses our dedication to ‘Act with Impact’. Our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint is reflected through efforts such as automating some tasks, using electric vans to transport inventory between logistics hubs and minimising staff travel through a remote working for all policy.
Why is sustainability such an important focus for you and Agilitas? Sustainability is in the DNA of our Inventory-as-a-Service model, which is an essential part of our work to help create a circular economy and creates a way of working that is better for both the environment and our customers. Our objective to minimise waste is at the heart of the Agilitas culture and we are determined to take action to create a greener Channel ecosystem for our planet, people and partners.
What other initiatives are you implementing to create a circular economy for a more sustainable and healthy future? We introduced Deborah Johnson as Agilitas’ Head of Sustainability. Trough her wealth of experience and passion for the planet, people and partners, she can ensure that high standards are consistently applied in order to deliver a successful sustainability programme. Her knowledge of compliance and continual improvement,
coupled with her expertise in supplier management, contracts and audits perfectly positions Deborah as Agilitas’ sustainability lead. Her passion to ‘act with impact’ and provide guidance to the rest of the Agiliteam is why Deborah is the ideal choice to lead Agilitas and our partners on the path to becoming carbon neutral. We also champion our ‘Repair, Rework, Reuse’ model, which
is all about extending product life cycles and reducing the carbon footprint of technology. Tis includes automating repetitive tasks to streamline processes and using electric vehicles used to transport inventory between hubs. By following the strictest environmental governance and inventory management policies, we believe we can make a real difference to the future of the channel.

Please could you tell me a bit more about your ‘Recycle, Rework, Reuse’ model? Our ‘Repair, Rework, Reuse’ model is all about extending the lifecycle of technology products and exceeding our targets for a more sustainable future. At Agilitas, we offer an Inventory-as-a- Service model, which is an essential part of our work to help create a circular economy. Our vision to minimise waste is at the heart of the Agilitas culture and we are focused on developing a greener Channel ecosystem for our planet, people and partners. We commit to providing a sustainable, digitalised supply
chain – where we look to repair devices in order to reduce single- use tech that is disposed of and replaced every time. Tis allows our channel partners and their customers to significantly reduce carbon footprints and work towards the nation’s crucial ambitions for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
How do you plan to reduce Agilitas’ own carbon footprint? We started our road to sustainability by launching the e-Ventory Charter and Sustainability Pledge in September, as well as signing the Climate Coalition Declaration. By the end of 2022, we wish to reduce single-use plastic and paper usage by 50%. Fast forward a couple of years and we want to plant 100,000 trees, which will remove 10,000 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere and help deliver a Climate Positive Agilitas team. Tis places us ahead of the UK government’s target of 2050, where we aim to make Agilitas 100% carbon neutral.
What internal objectives has the company set out? At Agilitas, we have come up with several ways that we can support our team members to help boost sustainability practices. For example, we have arranged tree planting days, as well as community litter sweeps. In line with our goal to reduce single-use plastics by next year, we have also provided our team with reusable drinks bottles. As our pledge develops with time, we plan to continue to add to our objectives to adapt to new sustainability ideas.
What advice can you offer other companies in the channel to help them adopt a more sustainable approach? My advice would be to act now and work with your team to create a plan that suits your business. Tere’s always something we can
