Am I the only one who feels like, as an industry, we’re somewhat holding our breath? I won’t focus on the negative, there’s enough of that day to day. The challenges we (and many other industries) have faced since COVID have been numerous. Some are still in the early days of green shoots, but many are now seeing a return to where they were almost six years ago. It’s so important to celebrate wins. Even the little ones. A new partnership, launching a shop ride, seeing people take their first steps with riding, either on a balance bike or rediscovering cycling after years away. It’s scary to do things differently, but sometimes that’s the only way to learn. A new opportunity to grow. What’s the saying about doing the same thing over again and expecting a different outcome? In most scenarios, we don’t even need to aim for perfection. You just need to start and keep pedalling. As we look back, and indeed ahead, on what’s happened in the past few

years, it seems that many have found new ways of working. People are finding a rhythm and what works for them. Granted there are always bumps in the road, but there’s largely more positivity. I’m also noticing a lot of people aligning themselves on what we as an industry need to do to grow. It’s been interesting to see conversations and thought patterns develop. As we’re now half way through 2026, what the rest of the year will look like

is yet to be seen. I do hope it’s as positive as possible for all of you. This issue focuses somewhat on people who have found their strength and focused on that. It’s important to read about what others are doing, it’s a good way to spark new ideas and look at things from a different perspective.
