Dates for the 20th edition of COREbike announced
HOT on the heels of February’s show, the organisers of COREbike are already busy working on plans for 2025. Next year, COREbike will return to Whittlebury Hall, Towcester from Sunday, February 23, to Tuesday, February 25. It will be the 20th anniversary of
COREbike making it now the industry’s longest-running event and, judging by this year’s numbers, it’s going from strength to strength.
Chris Holman, show organiser, said: “We had a record number of advance registrations this year, exceeding 1,600 for
the first time in the show’s history. “By the end of the three days, the badge scans for visitors showed that Monday was CORE’s busiest-ever day and overall we saw 10% more dealers and workshops and 20% more media than 2023, which was already a record year. “There was a great buzz around the venue, lots of positivity and plenty of orders being taken so hopefully good signs for the rest of the year for the bike industry.”
Registrations for the 2025 edition of COREbike will open in October.
Local Bike Shop Day to take place in May
THE Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) has announced that this year’s Local Bike Shop Day will take place on Saturday, May 4, the weekend of the early May Bank Holiday. The ACT is encouraging the industry and the wider cycling community to support the campaign as part of a wider effort to “kickstart” the sector after a difficult post- Covid period.
Bike businesses can access a free
retailer promotion pack, which includes a number of digital assets such as graphics and shop posters, online at
localbikeshopday.co.uk. On social media, the ACT is encouraging the industry to use the hashtag #LocalBikeShopDay and follow the campaign’s accounts.
Saddleback adds WTB to its portfolio
WILDERNESS Trail Bikes (WTB) has joined the Saddleback family of brands. Richard Mardle, Saddleback brand director, said: “We are
extremely happy to partner with the WTB team to rebuild the brand within the UK and Irish markets, across all retail channels, with the exciting line-up of new products to come.” Saddleback will be enhancing and supporting the brand
across all channels to reposition it back into the marketplace. WTB products are now available to order through Saddleback for the UK and Ireland.

Madison and Sportline to supply AtranVelo
MADISON and Sportline have announced an agreement to be the exclusive distributors of AtranVelo in the UK and Ireland. Sportline has been working with AtranVelo since 2018 on OE specs for its bikes, with more than 12,000 bikes already in the UK market using AtranVelo AVS racks. Scott Longstaff, own brand director at Madison and
Sportline, said: “The addition of the family of accessories to our aftermarket roster means that any bike can now be turned into a multi-use vehicle. “The super simplicity and secure nature of the fitting system is really impressive and we’re sure that it will become a firm favourite with consumers.”
