lamil produces a wide range of chocolates supplying customers worldwide, from major manufacturers to independent businesses, with white, blonde, vegan milky and dark chocolates. Each range offers a choice of milk alternatives such as rice or oats and an assurance of dairy and gluten free for all products. It is a common mis-conception that any dark chocolate specification is milk free. This is not the case! Plamil’s customers can rest assured that when using their dark chocolate they will not be required to add a ‘may contain dairy’ type allergen warning on the final product label or face the risk of a potential allergen mislabelling. Many customers are starting to use Plamil chocolate not only in traditional free-from ranges, but in all the chocolate variants they make. The advantage for manufacturers in using a ‘one for all’, whether or not the ‘free-from’ claim is required, are considerable cost savings by removing production down time or expensive changeovers due to cleaning or purging, whilst also removing the cleaning risk which is considered to be high with chocolate processing.

No added sugar chocolate is growing in demand as manufacturers look to re-formulate products that will help them towards their own sugar reduction targets. Plamil’s award winning team are flexible and customer focused to accommodate manufacturers and processors that often require specific formulas and/or specific formats, for example size of chip. New Product Development is seen as an integral part of Plamil’s service to customers. By having an extensive and practical knowledge of production techniques it can partner with manufacturers to develop the best, and often the quickest, formula solution for its customers utilising a small pilot plant within their new refinery. It is also able to give advice on tempering within real factory conditions.

to BRCGS Start standards, Plamil is also Organic and Rainforest Alliance certified. In addition, they are able to offer origin specific chocolate, a range of ‘non chocolate’ alternatives such as carob or coffee-based products and non- temper compound coatings.
