42 INTERVIEW: FOOTAR

For the global iGaming industry, 2025 has been a year defi ned by both accelerated change and heightened scrutiny. Regulatory tightening across key European and Latin American markets has forced operators to rethink compliance infrastructures, while rising customer-acquisition costs have put pressure on affi liates and studios alike.

Yet amid these challenges, 2025 has also showcased the industry’s resilience and collaborative spirit. The year began with a powerful statement at ICE Barcelona in January, where the relocation injected fresh energy into this fl agship event. Developers debuted leaner, more data-driven content strategies, while operators sought partnerships built for long-term retention rather than short-term spikes.

By mid-year, iGB Live in London in July served as a barometer of the industry’s adaptability. AI-enabled CRM, real-time risk scoring, and modular platform architecture dominated conversations.

As autumn approached, SBC Summit Lisbon in September highlighted a renewed focus on sustainability, not only in environmental terms, but in creating responsible, future-proof business models. Finally, SiGMA Europe in Rome in October closed the circuit with an unmistakable sense of momentum.

So as we look back at the last 12 months, if 2025 has taught us anything, it is that the path forward will reward agility, integrity, and collaboration. The challenges are real, but so too are the milestones that show this industry is evolving with purpose.
