Currys has launched its own TikTok Shop, allowing customers to discover and purchase technology directly through the social media platform as the retailer looks to reach new audiences. The move will see the electrical retailer offer a curated selection of products

across categories including health and beauty, coffee machines, seasonal appliances and audio, with shoppers able to make purchases without leaving the TikTok app.

The launch builds on Currys’ existing presence on the platform, where its content has attracted more than 10 million likes. As part of the initiative, Currys will collaborate with content creators to showcase

Currys scrolls into new era of shopping

Marks Electrical has raised its full-year profit expectations after reporting stronger-than- anticipated profitability during the first half of its financial year. The online electrical retailer said revenue for the year ending 31 March 2027 is expected to be broadly in line with market expectations, while adjusted EBITDA is now forecast to come in ahead of expectations at no less than £3.75 million. The retailer attributed the improved outlook to its

products and host live shopping events, offering real-time demonstrations and the opportunity for customers to purchase products directly from their feeds. The service is initially being introduced as a trial in partnership with THG Commerce and will give Currys access to TikTok’s audience of more than 30 million monthly users in the UK. Darren Rajanah, Chief Revenue Officer at THG Ingenuity, said the partnership

demonstrates how the relationship between entertainment and shopping is evolving. “For years, online shopping has been very transactional. You search, you click,

you buy. What we have learned from operating on TikTok is that commerce is now an extension of entertainment and community,” he said. “People are discovering products through creators they trust and content they connect with.”

Marks Electrical raises profit expectations ahead of peak trading Philip Luke De

continued focus on operational efficiencies and fixed- cost optimisation, alongside improvements in product gross margins.

The update comes ahead of the crucial peak trading period, which includes Black Friday and Christmas.

Marks Electrical said the stronger performance had

been achieved despite continued cost inflation, with fuel costs highlighted as a particular pressure on the business.

Alongside its trading update, Marks Electrical announced the appointment of

Villanueva as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective from 1 December. Mr De Villanueva is an ACCA-qualified finance

professional and currently leads the finance function for Gamma Communications’ Enterprise Markets business unit. Tom Pallatt is stepping down from the Marks Electrical board as part of the change.

Sky previews new Glass and Stream features, leans into Voice AI and PVR-style cloud recording

Five years after the first Sky Glass TV was launched, Sky is evolving the software that sits behind its connected television proposition, with new navigation, revised cloud recording, AI-powered voice search and a more consistent experience across Sky Glass, Sky Air, Sky Stream and mobile, reports Steve May. The preview was very much about evolution rather

than a wholesale reinvention of Sky OS. The interface remains recognisably Sky, but several familiar parts have

been moved, renamed or expanded. The aim is to make the system feel easier to navigate and more intuitive. There’s no confirmed launch date for the new

features yet, but Sky expects many of them to arrive before the end of 2026. The changes are built around three priorities: reducing the number of clicks needed to reach live TV and popular content, giving customers greater control over what they save and record, and creating a more consistent experience across TV and mobile devices.
