ERT’s stars of IFA
There was plenty to see in Berlin, from a hob that cooks your pasta to a 116- inch TV that demands a bigger living room. ERT Editor Will McGill picks seven products and technologies that caught his attention at IFA 2026.

Anker eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35
Suction figures are only part of the robot- cleaning story. While the Anker eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 boasts a claimed 35,000Pa, its approach to mopping gives retailers another feature to demonstrate. The HydroJet 2.0 self-cleaning roller mop is designed to clean itself as it works, using fresh water to help avoid spreading dirt across the floor. The UK product specification also lists 1.6kg of downward mopping pressure to tackle stubborn marks. Introduced at IFA, the E35 combines vacuuming and mopping in a product aimed at reducing routine floor-cleaning work. For customers weighing up a robot cleaner, the way it manages the mop is a useful consideration alongside carpet performance and suction power.

camera inside a dishwasher might sound like an unnecessary addition, but Miele has given it a practical job. Unveiled at IFA, the G8 Diamond uses its AutoVision
adjusting the cycle for bottles. Detecting plastic items also helps it select the appropriate drying settings. The new ExcellentDry hot-air system tackles another familiar frustration: items that emerge clean but still need a tea towel. Combined with automatic detergent dispensing, the technology aims to reduce the decisions involved in getting a load washed, dried and ready to put away. The consumer can load different
items
without having to decide which programme extras each one needs. For the retailer, the camera provides a clear starting point for explaining how the dishwasher responds to the contents of the baskets.
There is a useful showroom opportunity here, too. A demonstration involving an everyday spill can explain the difference between collecting dry debris and washing a hard floor. It also gives sales staff a chance to discuss the cleaning routine customers currently follow and where a robot might fit.
AEG 7000 OnePot Pasta Hob
AEG followed last year’s PizzaExpert oven with another food-focused talking point: a hob with its own dedicated pasta function.
The 7000 Series OnePot Pasta hob works with an accompanying pot. Users select their portions, add the ingredients and close the lid, with AEG claiming a finished pasta dish in around 15 minutes, depending on the recipe. Rather than boiling pasta separately and
preparing a sauce alongside it, the system brings the process together in one pot. The function features on AEG’s SaphirMatt extractor hob, pairing the cooking technology with integrated extraction and a matt surface designed to reduce visible scratching. For retailers with working kitchen displays, it
offers an inviting demonstration: show customers the process, then let them taste the result. The attraction is a dedicated cooking function which is much easier to explain when shoppers can see what goes into the pot and what comes out. It brings a familiar meal into the conversation, giving the technology a purpose customers can immediately understand.
