ANALYSIS: FLOORCARE Home Appliances

36

Also arriving in Spring 2026, the Ewbank HYDROH1 Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner (EWHF03988) is designed for quick-response cleaning. Its cordless format tackles wet and dry mess simultaneously, supported by 10,000 Pa maximum suction. Dual tank technology keeps clean and dirty water separate, while an LED display provides real-time performance updates — ideal for consumers wanting efficiency and ease of use. From a retail perspective, Bluestem Group supports partners through its Ewbank Centre initiative. Modular display units, adjustable shelving and dedicated product brackets encourage hands-on interaction, while exclusive POS materials act as ‘silent salesmen’ to communicate key features. Store locator functionality on the Ewbank website further drives footfall to participating retailers, reinforcing the importance of in-store demonstration in converting today’s convenience-focused shopper.

Automation in action According to Mark Salmon, Senior Channel Sales Manager at Dreame UK, 2026 is defined by consumers moving away from time-consuming, manual floorcare towards intelligent, automated solutions that genuinely remove effort from daily life. Rather than relying on a single appliance, many households are now combining products to achieve the right balance between convenience and deep cleaning performance.

A clear behavioural shift is emerging: robot vacuums are being used for high-frequency, day-to-day maintenance, while handheld formats, whether wet & dry or stick vacuums, are reserved for deeper, more intensive cleans and spill emergencies. This “robots for maintenance, handhelds for deep cleaning” approach allows consumers to tailor cleaning to their lifestyle. Market segmentation within robot vacuums has also matured. Dreame’s range spans from accessible models such as the D20 Pro Plus through to flagship units like the Matrix10 Ultra, enabling customers to choose the level of automation and technology that suits their needs and budget. At the premium end, features such as automatic mop changing for different floor types deliver a more bespoke experience, while entry models still offer meaningful innovation, including detangling brush systems and extended maintenance-free operation.

Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 Robot Vacuum and Mop Hands-free automation remains a major

driver. Today’s robot vacuums deliver stronger suction for large debris, threshold climbing for whole-home coverage and advanced AI and laser navigation systems for precise obstacle avoidance. Retractable LDS modules allow access under low furniture, while advanced base stations can wash and dry mops with hot water,

refill clean water and empty dustbins

automatically, significantly reducing user intervention. Growth in the wet & dry segment further

reflects consumer demand for powerful, instant cleaning. Dreame cites GfK data showing 98.5 per cent growth in the wet & dry market in H1 2025 (excluding North America, Russia and China), highlighting the appetite for products capable of tackling sticky messes and deeper cleans alongside automated daily maintenance. These trends are evident across Dreame’s

current line-up, including the Dreame Matrix10 Ultra, which pioneers automatic mop-changing technology, and the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller, featuring real-time fresh-water roller mopping to enhance hygiene. Wet & dry models such as the Dreame H15 Mix combine powerful suction with hot-water brush self-cleaning and 180° lie-flat designs for under-furniture reach. Meanwhile, the lightweight Dreame R series stick vacuums, under 2kg with up to 90 minutes’ runtime, continue to appeal to

consumers seeking control and flexibility. Looking ahead, Dreame confirms new robot and wet & dry launches for the UK later this year, promising further technical breakthroughs. For retailers, Mr Salmon stresses that bricks- and-mortar remains central. By equipping staff to act as informed “cleaning advisors” and investing in live in-store demonstrations, retailers can translate technical specifications into tangible, real-life benefits - an approach that remains critical in driving conversion within an increasingly premiumised floorcare category.

Design for real homes Elsewhere, Hoover has strengthened its cordless portfolio with the launch of the new HF3 DynamicClean cordless vacuum cleaner, a high-performance stick model designed to drive volume in the competitive mid-market category. Positioned to balance power, runtime and everyday usability, the HF3 delivers up to 150AW suction power and up to 60 minutes’ runtime in Eco mode, giving consumers the performance they expect for whole-home cleaning without stepping into ultra-premium price tiers. An H13 HEPA filtration system captures 99.9 per cent of fine dust, making it particularly appealing to allergy-conscious households, while the anti-hair wrap brush bar supports easy maintenance, a key selling point for pet owners. >>
