‘In the middle of dif‘In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity’lies opportunity’

kay, so perhaps this year hasn’t started quite how we all would have hoped, but that doesn’t mean it has to continue

that way. If anything, it’s an opportunity to take stock, reset and approach things with a fresh perspective. Even in tougher conditions, there are always ways to grow, and often, that starts with rethinking how we do things. Which is exactly why I’ve turned to Albert Einstein for the inspiration behind this comment’s headline. To help get you started, we hear about how

they’re making social media work for them, sharing practical insights into how they connect with customers, grow their audience and turn online engagement into real business. We also shine a spotlight on one of the industry’s standout performers - an ERT Award-winning retailer whose success is built on a clear vision, great customer service and a willingness to go the

extra mile, apologies for the tired cliche… In this issue’s big The ERT Interview, we sit down with Midea Group’s European Vice President to talk all things Teka, as the brand prepares for its UK debut following an initial showing at IFA last year, offering insight into what retailers can expect and what it could mean for the market. Elsewhere, ERT Features Editor Steve May takes a closer look at Panasonic’s major announcement, he reports on the ongoing events at the Panasonic Trade Show.

Alongside all of that, you’ll find a mix of topical

features, insights and analysis to keep you up to speed with what’s happening across the sector. As always, it’s a reminder that while the landscape may keep shifting, we must find creative and smart ways to move forward - but we all know that, its exactly why so many independents have kept running for so many decades!

And if you’re wondering about the image this month - it’s Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. A great shot… although you could argue it might look even better without certain oversized name on a certain building. And finally, a quick note - entries for the ERT

Awards 2026 are now officially open. With some exciting new categories introduced this year, it’s a brilliant opportunity to have your business - and the people behind it - recognised for the outstanding work they do. Head to https://ertawards.co.uk to find out

more and how you can get involved. Enjoy the read
