JLP appoints new president of the partnership council


The John Lewis Partnership has announced the appointment of a new president for its unique governing authority - the Partnership Council. Chris Earnshaw has been a partner for 21 years


and was head of shop trading north for Waitrose & Partners and president of Waitrose & Partners Council. Earnshaw started his career as an A-level management trainee in 1998 and has worked in a number of shops, developing his career within the Partnership. Earnshaw has been head of branch for John Lewis & Partners in Liverpool and Cardiff. Running for


a three-year term, Earnshaw replaces former


Partnership Council president, Trevor Phillips and will work alongside the recently appointed independent directors, Dame Clare Tickell and Michael Herlihy.


Rob Collins to leave the John Lewis Partnership


The John Lewis Partnership has announced that, after a 26-year career, Rob Collins has set out his intention to step down as managing director of Waitrose & Partners next year. The Partnership has also


announced the Future Partnership plan, which includes the introduction of a new management structure for the Partnership. From next year there will be one executive team with direct responsibility for the performance and strategy of the whole Partnership, and there will no longer be divisional boards or separate managing directors for John Lewis & Partners and Waitrose & Partners. Kingfisher plc announces appointment of new CFO


Kingfisher has appointed Bernard Bot as chief financial officer (CFO). Bot will take up the role on 21 October 2019 and will be appointed to the Board of Directors on that date. He will also become a


member of the Group Executive team. Bot joins most recently from Travelport Worldwide, a global technology platform for the travel industry that was NYSE-listed until June 2019. As Travelport’s CFO, Bot was responsible for finance, strategy, transformation and investor relations. Bot has significant experience in large- scale transformation programmes, logistics and supply chain management, technology and digital


services. He is a seasoned CFO, having held this role at companies listed in the US, UK, Ireland and the Netherlands and has worked at international businesses throughout his career. Bot is a Dutch national, who also speaks fluent English and French, and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Paddington, UK.


Bot commented: “I’m very happy to be joining Kingfisher. The business has strong financial characteristics and significant growth opportunities. I look forward to working with the Kingfisher team to capture these for the benefit of all stakeholders.” The company has also announced that John Wartig, who joined Kingfisher as interim CFO on 8 April 2019, has been appointed to the newly created role of chief transformation and development officer.

Sir Charlie Mayfield, partner and chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, said: “Rob joined the Partnership in 1993 as a graduate trainee and has made a terrific contribution in a number of roles at both Waitrose & Partners and John Lewis & Partners. In recent years, Rob has been an outstanding leader for the Partnership in all the senior positions he has held. As managing director of Waitrose & Partners for the last four years he has made an enormous impact in modernising, strengthening and differentiating the business.”
