MARSH INDUSTRIES ACTS ON PHOSPHATES AND NITRATES
Marsh Industries’ off mains drainage solutions for the UK’s domestic, commercial, agricultural and leisure industries have a big role to play in protecting our waterways.
M
arsh Industries has made it their mission over two decades to reach and succeed the benchmark standards set out by specialised bodies such as
the Environmental Agency, SEPA and the UK Government. By using Marsh products, such as an Ensign Sewage Treatment Plant, the customer can be rest assured that they are doing their part to clean and protect the UK waterways.
We all feel the growing pressure to care for and protect our environment. Over the years, this has often been overlooked, but now it seems like every week there’s another news article highlighting the urgency of preserving our wildlife, plants, and ecosystems. They’re all at risk of lasting harm, and it’s a conversation we can’t ignore any longer.
Being one to never rest on their laurels, we have worked tirelessly worked to develop the most comprehensive and technologically advanced off mains drainage products currently available within the UK market. Our ongoing research and development have enabled us to broaden our product range, especially with a focus on enhancing the natural environment. In these times, addressing conservation challenges is more important than ever, and we’re committed to making a positive impact.
The Marsh Aqua-Puratine EL Sewage Treatment Plant is the company’s latest product launch to help combat the very current and highly problematic issue of the phosphates and nitrates.
Historically, to manufacture and sell sewage treatment plants in the UK a company needs to achieve discharge consents of 20:30:20 for Ammonia, BOD and Suspended Solids. This has ensured that the rivers, streams and ditches that sewage treatment plants discharge into are kept environmentally safe. However, more recently the shift of focus has been towards nitrates and phosphates entering the countries waterways and what damage they are causing. We developed the
26
Aqua-Puratine EL treatment plant to combat this new problem, whilst at the same time not losing focus on the original discharge constraints. The EL range are fully type tested and certified to BS EN 12566:3 and surpasses the standards set out by Natural England.
So Marsh More
Sewage treatment plants are just one of the many solutions Marsh offers to the building industry to help restore our waterways. The Marsh Marator Oil Separator range is fully type tested and certified to BS EN 585. The Marator offers high performance for sites where the industry standard is just not good enough and is perfect for sites where the environment needs more protection from everyday human life. The workings behind the Marsh Marator is centralised on nanofiltration technology which results in discharge levels of less than 0.1mg/l, making the Marator 50 times better than any other current Oil Separator available on
today.s market. By using a Marator in car parks, roadways or fuelling stations it ensures that the discharge going back into the ditches, streams or rivers is the cleanest it could possibly be. Marsh also has several solutions for the increasing amount of rainfall the UK seems to have year on year. Rainwater Harvesting allows homeowners to reuse collected rainwater for garden irrigation or toilet flushing. This further utilises the precious commodity of rainwater putting less pressure on water companies especially during the summer months. The Storm Dammer Flood Attenuation products come in capacities from 2800L to 100,000l per tank and alleviate the risk of flooding, reducing the pressure on the UK’s drainage and sewer network. It works by storing the excess flood water until the stormwater can be discharged downstream in a controlled manner to safeguard the environment from further damage from flooding.
We supply to to all independent and national builders merchants throughout the UK, and can deliver domestic products direct to site in 3-5 days from order, thanks to our twin production sites in Northamptonshire and Somerset. Marsh has consulted with VOSA to certify the most efficient and effective way of delivering products, and can load 6-8 domestic products on a single vehicle for delivery, meaning fewer lorries on the road, and a smaller carbon footprint for the business.
At a time when governmental pressures and climate change are a day-to-day occurrence for us all, Marsh is proud to be a UK company leading the way to protect our precious and beautiful waterways. We are so Marsh more than just a sewage treatment manufacturer. n
