Keyline provides product for Maisie’s memory garden

The Norwich branch of civils specialist merchant Keyline has supplied construction products to build a memory garden for a local couple following the passing of their 17-year-old daughter. The company donated 30 bags of cement for Maisie’s memory garden – a space which will give Dawn and Darrell Lossau somewhere to celebrate the life of their daughter, Maisie. Originally,

the site was to be an annexe that balanced Maisie’s independence with her need for ongoing daily care. However, it changed to a memory garden, after Maisie passed away in August 2022. Ray Hibbard, branch manager said: “When we heard Dawn and Darrell’s story, we were completely onboard to get involved in any way we could. The response the Lossaus received was overwhelming with

so many local businesses offering their services, so the decision was made to spread the donations. Our part involves supplying 30 bags of cement. It is a privilege to be involved in this project given that it means so much to Maisie’s loved ones.”

Dawn Lossau, said: “We’re extremely grateful for all the help and support we have received at such a difficult time. Not only will

Maisie’s memory garden be a place where we can sit and remember her, but most importantly it’ll be somewhere she would love. Our goal is to finish construction before Maisie’s 18th birthday in July.”

British Gypsum march makes charity money

British Gypsum colleagues took part in CRASH’s BIG March event this year, to raise funds for some of the most vulnerable people in society. Together with colleagues throughout Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions, staff took regular walks to help the construction industry charity build vital spaces for those facing homelessness or receiving end-of-life care in a hospice. As well as raising £1,527 for a fantastic cause, those who took part boosted their physical and mental wellbeing, explored local areas throughout the UK, and built camaraderie with teammates. average of 10,000 steps per day. He said: “I have a desk-based job and walking 10,000 steps a day is not as easy as it sounds, but I made it. I enjoy my daily walks and the discipline of tracking my steps. With the demands of work and family, I seem to do less and less exercise these days. But I find that getting outdoors really helps my mental health.”

People and Organisation Director and CRASH Trustee David McGarry said: “CRASH does great work in supporting the most vulnerable in society at the time that they need it. We have now reached the end of our BIG March journey, so thank you to all who have taken part.”

Simon Raywood, Head of Health & Safety at MKM, said: “Our approach to health and safety has always been focused on trusting people to be sensible, while we reenforce just how important it is that rules are followed.

“Go Home Safe is a little

reminder of why it is so crucial that people are safety conscious in the workplace – we’ve all got families and loved ones to go home to and nothing is more important than that.

“We want our MKM team to work with the younger members of their family and get them to create artwork that pulls at the heartstrings and makes people stop and think about the importance of health and safety in the workplace.”
